M3 vs 335i?

So if the 135i is a bit quicker than the 335i in stock I can see this happening. Nice run! :thumbs:

Sure there is a weight advantage but it is not a predetermined outcome. There will be other factors: manual vs the quicker auto and even quicker dtc...then there is the driver and also N54 vs N55...alot at stake when they face up then just the weight previledge.

I dont like the uncertainty of the 135 at speeds...the 335 is more solid and stable at frantic terminal speeds and i can drop the rear seats to get the same weight as 135...

But then again they both have turbos and i love machines with turbos :inlove:

Jezebel definitely is not stock. So maybe my race tales are not gonna be much help here, but Burgy and I ran her against a modded 335i cabrio, which had JB4 and meth. ( Meth was not used during the runs).

From pull off, Jezebel would pull 2 cars and hold it. From a rolling run, the same story. Burgy couldn't even believe what he saw.

Against two other e46 M3's, she just keeps pulling lightpoles. Leaving them behind. We did both 2nd gear pull offs and 3rd gear pull offs against the other e46 M3.

Burgy can confirm these stories as he was present.

This is without the supercharger installed, just the lightweight engine internals and bored out. Stock exhaust except Decat. Stock Software.

I raced a Golf 6 GTI K04 Stage 3 and during a rolling run, I pulled 1 car ahead and stayed there for the duration of the run.

The GTI Driver says I caught him out of boost. Fair enough, We ran again from pull off and again I pull 1 car length. Only at the top of 4th gear does the K04 level with Jezebel before we have to brake.

That being said, cannot wait to put the supercharger on her.

Crash...no man...Cabrio's even tuned once are slow not a good comparison there...nether sure if the K04 was a race...it should have taken you down from the launch...just my thoughts.

Cant see Jezebel without a tune standing up against a K04 neither a tuned Jb4 335... Not gonna happen

Remember, Jezebel has been bored out. So she has a shitload more torque than stock. Her wheels are light alloy vorsteiner rims with lightweight internals, that means she revs smoothly and has less load to turn over.

I had a short run with a e92 m this weekend. Whilst it wasn't a head to head. This is how it went down

He was behind me at the robot, robot turns green, I plant it and he follows, he then went into the left lane with the clear intention of passing me but didn't happen and he was not gaining either stayed there unril about end of third. At the next stop he says ... Ya, this would have been a different story at the coast. My gf just laughed and says why the cost? What's up with that. Lol

When I had my e46 M3, I got the hiding of my life against a pre FL 335i auto.
Same thing happened when I had the e36 M3. Also got a hiding of note.

Maybe both 335s I came across got new fuel pumps the day before :fencelook:

My friend also has an E46 M3 with FRC software and decat and that thing pulls away (Reef) from a stock 335 with easeraise:. at higher speeds the distance even gets worse, so anything is possible with an M car.

I understand that doing some upgrades on the 335i's will make the e46 m3 look a lot slower. Fair enough. but putting a bolt on turbo kit on the e46 m3 makes it more of a lambo or ferrari dice then. Just saying . The more you spend the faster you will go. both cool cars, but yet so different!

Agree, but you can put bigger turbos or nitrous on the 335 and we back to the 335 being infront...slaying modded lambos...just saying :rollsmile:

I can def. vouch that we gained on that white 335i...
And I could see that he was also giving carrots! (As we were redlining all the way up) All in all...I'm proud of Peertjies' stock e46 M3 N/A.

I'm pretty sure if the 335i is modded...we will not see it, but this bmw looked stock as well.
