Yes, as stated, I do run meth, but I also ran Stage 2 just fine without it.Well you do have meth injection from the looks of it. That on its own acts as an intercooler upgrade. Running tunes without an intercooler upgrade does lead to more knock/pre-detonation if not mistaken. A bad batch of fuel and high temps can be a recipe for disaster even if our cars can pull back power.
I felt more comfortable having as much cooling as possible. I am not a big fan of meth injection as its another failure point I dont want to deal with so got he biggest intercooler I could find. When I decide to go for more power, I will do DI only. DS25 HPFP and N63 EU5 injectors. Will only do meth injection if my builder/tuner says it is a must for extra cooling.
Meth is by no means a replacement for an intercooler and does not act as an upgrade for one either. Intercoolers continuously reduce intake temps as long as the engine is running, while meth, only when running water mixes, cools ONLY when spraying. You only spray when hitting certain boost targets. That's why I said you NEED to understand your car. It's also important to note that I pointed out letting the car breath after every hard pull. Combining all that math into one recipe is the outcome of my comment. In short, the stock cooler is perfectly fine and can handle Stage 2 if you understand your car and don't drive like a tard, trialed and tested.
Regarding the failure point, the systems have their own checks in place before even activating, happens in a few seconds and continuously checks too.
I did not fit meth because I want more power, that is simply delusional. I decided to go with it, knowing where I want my car and what fits my needs. If I wanted the "bestest and fastest mudder fukka" on the road as an endgame achievement, I would have bought the M140i parked next to mine on the day of my purchase, rather than building on the N55 platform.
