Hey guys I need some technical assistance regarding my 3.0 m3 e36. On start when the car is cold she runs and idles perfect. As the oil temperature increases my oil lyt comes on only on idle. It goes off if I give it a slight rev. The car runs perfectly normall . I not sure if the mechanic had not used the oil I supplied him to do a service with . Any ideas as to wat could be wrong ? Could it be the oil pump ?

could be oil pump or oil temp or level sensor, DIAGNOSTICS is the cheapest place to start looking..

my E36 316i did this for years, they could not find the problem until 1 day the engine seized.. was a fault from manufacturing where it was not sending enough oil the the top end..

Lack of adequate oil pressure is not something that you fuck around with, the S50B30 doesnt have a whole lot of oil in the head when its running normally. Stop trying to figure out whats going on and just take it to someone that know what they are doing before you end up seizing your engine.
