Can someone get me the part no for the m performance exhaust on the M2 . I hope to place an order now , so that I can have the exhaust installed prior to taking delivery

Just ask BMW. Why didn't you order it with the mperformance exhaust? Surely it would have been cheaper?

You can only retrofit M-Preformance parts ... Once the BMW comes from the factory then the dealer retro fits whatever M part you want.

I found it quite odd that an M vehicle does not come standard with an M performance exhaust.

Make more money ... You want it? You pay more.

I would like the bootlip retrofitted before i get my car as well if the price is not ridiculous else I will wait for an aftermarket like RWcarbon.

After reading a few threads over the years, the reason is simply because when any manufacturer fits a nice sounding exhaust system, people complain about drone and being unrefined. It is a hugely subjective thing. I actually looked at one the other day where many guys had petitioned BMW USA about a 'design flaw' which made for very frustrating reading. You then have the rest of us that complain about cars like the M5 and M6 being too quiet for performance cars when the pendulum swings the other way. It is a no-win game for the engineers. Unfortunately it is us that end up paying the price. We either fit aftermarket systems or end up going the M Performance route. Can't complain on the M5/6 I guess... they are R30-40K cheaper than buying the same exhaust with Akra logos on the tips. In the end it is a sound thing... the OEM exhaust performs just fine (You can't really say it is not suited to the car or choking its performance dramatically)

As much as M-Performance is a money making scheme, on the exhaust front, I can kind of see where they are coming from.

I actually agree with that but then why don't they make M-performance options available at the factory, so you don't have order them afterwards and pay more for labour.

My brother bought a Jeep and got a trade in value on his wheels with jeep to put towards aftermarket wheel. From what I believe BMW does not do this, instead yu have this buy both products.

I would way prefer choosing at the start if one exhuast(even if I have to pay more) than removing a perfectly good one and to replace. Just sounds a bit dumb to me.

Great great great . Spoke to BMW parts. The no's appear to be correct . But I am waiting for BMWSA to confirm . The description at the parts dealership does not say F87 M2 . Price just for the exhaust without tips is R42 500. Hectic price

Can't seem to find part no for boot lip. In any case , the bootlip will have to be painted so it will look very aftermarket . Will get price Monday. The reviews say that standard exhaust good enough
