:lll._.: clearly koni dont think much of coilover systems... none for the e46 330i... just had a look at the e36 ones and they dont go very low 50mm front and 40mm rear... seems the engineers at koni said no to stance and yes to proper handling

H&R are definitely going to be a better bet for coilovers... i will be listing them soon :fencelook:

anything for other e46's, should be the same fir the entire range (of saloons), not really looking for low  looking for something that retains close to the standard sportspack ride height.

koni springs will lower sports pack about 1.5cm and when combined with koni Sport shocks they offer a very good handling package at a much lower cost than koni coilovers :) if you want a super smooth ride you could look at FSD...

koni Sport: more road feel and able to fine tune handling...
koni FSD: smooth ride (not floaty or disconnected) but almost just as quick on the track...

I will find out about servicing :) honestly they will outlast the car so its not really a worry...

will get a price for you...

Can they really outlast the car? If so then that price maybe isn't too scary...What is it about coilovers?

Koni make very good dampers so much so that they offer a life time warranty in the US and other countries... here we get 3 years unlimited km warranty :)

Hi everyone, I am a new member and I live in Maputo, where the roads are horrible. I drive 318i e46 for about 2 months and when driving on uneven roads the discomfort is much more than my former corolla or my girls honda accord. Are all BMW like this? also do you recommend Installing FSD??

i would definitely recommend FSD for rough roads on stock springs over coilovers :)

I would say in general BMW do run harder suspension than most cars because they want you to have more feel and better handling... on rough roads FSD is definitely the way to go because it delivers performance and smooth ride thats why they are used as OEM on the mclaren mercedes SLR :)

Are FSDs specifically for use with stock springs or is there an FSD spring/damper package?

On another note that SLR is just Viagra on steroids!

lol on SLR

FSDs work best at stock ride heights with more travel for lowering springs Koni STR.T and Sport are better :)

there are alot of people who are running FSDs on mild drops (35-40mm) that are very happy with them but it is not recommended by Koni...

I see you’ve preempted my next question  This is FSD country but I have no intention of going back to stock ride height…coilovers are the next logical step then. But not before I run STR.Ts all round

I´d rather go to you because I do not have anyone to mount them on. Where do you have them? I am from Maputo but I am planning to go to south africa next month. What else do you have for my 318i e46 to give me a bit more performance (small things like maybe an exhaust, etc...)
