JB4 Stage 3 135i N54 Build Thread

I agree the car won't be drivable, if turbo's go. But I am buying a land rover td5 in the next week or two for a secondary. When building cars like these they are prone to stand for a few days here and there. Seems the advice I should take is to order the RB's now and shelf them. Just like the warning about tarlton I too want to go learn from my own mistakes not from others. None of us drive our cars the same they will act differently.

Builds like these have the car sitting for more than a few days... although the kits for 135i's are far easier to do, so maybe... Good Luck.

Might be a good idea to share my thoughts so guys are more aware of where this car is going. Im buying another car that will be used daily. Hec I'm thinking of getting a TD5 and a cheap little polo or something. Im planning on pushing another 100k into the 135i over a period of time. There is still a long list of parts to go in. This was phase 1 of about 4 phases the car will go through.

Keep updating us so we can learn from your mistakes

Everyone has given good advice but from what I understand is you don't really want safety advice but rather power advice. If it breaks you will just get it fixed. You want to push the boundaries on your car. Exciting thread.

So I will sit back and enjoy your updates. I look forward to seeing how far you can take the car.

Nice build. Car seems pretty strong

Hope this all pans out for you

Either way turbos are going to be pushed even if the boost is slightly or drastically raised, so ya just enjoy it

The OP seems not to want any advice. From the attitude he knows everything.

No your wrong. I'm in IT, so I don't know anything but neither do you or anybody else in this FORUM! See that car was purpose bought to be tuned. I have mentioned another R100k going onto this build, Get that!? I'll push 200k if I want to just because I CAN. The car is a street racing car, the car is a street racing car, the car is a street racing car...build for street racing....will you get that into the brain waves now huh? Problem is when you start pushing the power the car is doing now with the little mods it has I guess I will start scaring a few guys. My car is heading in the direction of jp's. 135i here and in the states has the same turbo' I assume. I know guys that have been running stock turbo's 17-20psi 2yrs plus with no problems. But the Sa turbo's are shot according to some they don't last a week if you run 17psi according to our forum experts. Point being if you can't afford to tune a 135i don't. I can!

Ok we get it you've got money. Well done. You really do know how to make yourself sound like a tool. And if you had real money you wouldn't be prancing around "oh look at me look at me I have money, I can, I can."

Majority of the cars in the states are running ethanol. And with the cooling benefits of eth they can boost higher. So there's that and then there's their better fuel.

I would advise you look at your attitude. People have tried to help you. A key point in any build besides a dyno queen build is reliability. If not then you're just plain stupid.

And you're right people on the forum don't know everything. No one knows everything. But there are people who know a hell of a lot more than you. Who have taken the time to try help you. But your too high and mighty to acknowledge them.

All bow to nicbyte.

Wooow your attitude is something special bru. The people who have offered you advice in this thread are the people who have been down the same road. Made mistakes and are TRYING to prevent you from making the same unnecessary mistakes.

But hey, some people know everything and cant be educated I guess...

Like I said exciting thread. We either going to see a hot car or one with an engine that goes kaboom.

Nic you have to be careful not to alienate all the forum members because one day you might need help. You should know being so successful in business that burning bridges is not a good idea. It might be working now but it does catch up with you eventually.

I am enjoying this build thread. Can we not just keep it civil. It is easier to just say thanks for the advice rather than f__k you I know what I am doing. You can then decide whether to use the advice or not.

Here is my advice. Go get a punch bag. Hang it up by your computer. When a reply comes in and you have this urge to rant punch the bag a couple of times and then type your reply.

Looking forward to your build updates.

I also agree with magneto. But this guy is not saying f__k you I know what I'm doing. He's saying f__k you I have no idea what I'm doing but WHEN I break something I'll just replace it.

Lol I think your right with the punching bag thing. Get way to agro when guys tune when they don't know what's going on. I get alot of advice from forum members. I also do alot of my own research, im not a mechanical expert but as an engineer I do have a certain level of understanding. My only wish is if people don't have anything constructive to add to this thread don't add anything at all. If you see a clear issue pm and approach it with the correct attitude. I don't come shit over your threads if I see something I don't like. If your approach is correct your advice will carry more weight. Please keep in mind Burg looks after me and he is doing a great job at that. I trust my tuner and that's how it should be. When guys try and rupture that trust it isn't appreciated.
