 Im asking because i've heard guys are getting good fuel economy, especially useful for the long trips down to the coast and what have you.Others are preserving the turbo's for weekends :flyfun:

I think map 8 will be fun as there will be more cars to race on the road :roflol:

Hi,

Does anyone know if we can run map 5 up at the reef?

If so will I need octane booster or will pump fuel work?

You can run map 5 at altitude on pump fuel. It will auto-tune based on your conditions. We recommend map 5 for altitude.

A revised map 5 is in alpha stage being tested and should be available to the public by end of june. All variants of fuel are also being tested for this particular map.

Pump fuel will work but OB is always good to have.Another thing to remember when comparing or testing, our crap 95 is equivalent to US 91.

Btw is it just me or is the new firmware on map 5 exceptionally smooth and responsive.Im really impressed with the new map 5,so much more aggressive than the old map 5.

I'm busy experimenting on map 5 with meth enabled and some OB thrown into the mix. Some logs coming are coming your way twinz

Anyone else on the new firmware?

Anyone else on the new firmware?

loaded new 5/23 firmware yesterday, map 5 pulls nicely especially from 4000rpm upwards. Map1 feels like it has alot more torque at low rpms. Need to go dyno to see some figures. I have no meth
so cant comment, but everyone says its the best mod on n54/n55 wiht jb4... Starting to save...

I have to dyno as well, just can't seem to find the time..

Definitely meth is the best bang for buck mod out there.Although now with the new firmware,it seems that e85 and map 5 is up there with meth, powerwise.Could be a nice alternative without the hassle of dealing with meth.Gona try it out soon i'll let you guys know..

JB4 N54 Firmware - Please update your JB.

5/23 Firmware Changes:

1) Revised map 5 auto learning for more aggressive and responsive tuning, including support for various E85 and race fuel mixtures. Auto tuning range is from 12psi to 17psi. Raise overboost safety to 18psi to allow map 5 full targeting range up to 17psi. If boost exceeds the overboost safesty for more than a second the JB4 will switch off.

2) Revised map 3 progressive mapping for more aggressive torque response and smoother transitions between no meth flow and full meth flow.

3) Revised open loop mapping and introduced open loop auto learning system. Will automatically range open loop as a function of fuel trims and other internal parameters. To disable open loop auto learning you may set FutureUseA = 2. If you experience 29F2 fuel pressure codes and your fuel pressure is over 13 at wide open throttle, disable open loop auto learning and manually set open loop starting at 75.

4) Various minor changes related to the above items.

Hey so I ran my N54 135 tonite at tarlton and to be honest not really sure how I feel about the results..............

On map 5 I was getting 14.2 - 14.3
On map 2 I got a best of 14.06

I was expecting better reults and was hoping to get into the 13's

So I ran the jb4 again at map 0 to see how the car was doing and pulled 14.6

Are these the type of times and gains to be expected running a JB4 only car? Cos I can feel the power on the daily drive just feel like it wasn't as good as it could be tonite:fencelook:

@Pr
Send us some datalogs, only way we can assist. ([email protected]) If you drag your car you must datalog. Map 5 is not the map i would choose for the drag strip. Do you run the latest map 5 firmware as in post #1 on this thread?

How many ports do you have? Tried all of them?

1. The ignition must be "on"...you must see the fuel gauge level move and the lights go in in the dash...but do not start the car.

2. When you choose the port you cannot connect from the settings page...you have to click back to the "logging page" then click "file" & click "connect" You have to do this each time you choose a different port. Untill it accepts it.

Next time you upload the interface it will automatically choose the port that works...if of course you use the same laptop.

Hope you succeed.

Update to 5/23... I ran 13.9 at Tarlton Friday night on map5 with alot of wheelspin in 1st and 2nd.

335i auto n54.

The new map 5 really pulls hard from 4000rpm!

Would like to get map 6 setup to limit 1st and 2nd gears to about 8psi.

Thx Rennzport and Burgertuning for a great product....

Skiet. You can also limit it on map 5. But remember to hit the save button other wise it will revert to default.
Try 9psi in first gear and 13psi in second. Same as mine.
