Hi there

So i am looking at an F30 335i or a F30 320i Sports Package. Which one would you guys suggest would be a better all round car to live with? Reliability, cost of ownership stuff like that? Looking for something with the best compromise between power and reliability

Also any other models you would suggest looking at.

Many Thanks

Welcome to the forum, if you are really after reliability then you cannot go wrong with a 330d.. That will likely tick all the boxes for you. I would steer clear of the 320i with the N20 motor. The 335i will have the best sound out of all those, which is the one factor I cannot give up above all, it has to sound like a BMW :)

320d or 330d - full stop.

Of the petrol cars, if you want performance 335 or 340. The 320i I think is motor dependent: If it is an earlier car and has an N20 you are not going to have a good time. B48 I would say go for it but not sure what the budget is.

For your concerns though @"cOlDFuSiOn" and @"MR_Y" are probably right: get a 330d

Easy one.
320d or 330d if you can stretch your budget.
Once you go 6 cylinder though (330d or 335i\40i), hard to back...

Here's my take: those are two different cars and your choice can't be limited to them.. Do your research and go drive them, and you will know your preference .. Also, have a budget..

335i = 330d
320i = 320d
Drive all 4 cars, and your choice will be much more specific.. Best all rounder in my view 320d, best with performance and reliability 330d, and the best with of the 4 is the 335i, but be prepared for fuel consumption and other costly things, should anything go wrong.. Lastly are you looking for a daily car or weekend toy?

I wouldn’t touch the 320i but based on your question of best all round car you can’t go wrong with the 320d if you need the extra power then 330d but the 320d is no slouch at all.

Having said that the 335 is a great car as well if you insist on sticking with a petrol.

the F30 330d should tick all your boxes.

reliable, efficient and more than sufficient power output.

in my opinion, low mileage diesels also hold better value when you intend reselling.
