I made mistake by believing that changing my 17 year old Bosch ignition coils will make a difference, the 130i had not issues with coils I've never even experienced a misfire on the 130i ever since owning it 2019.

So in August 24 I bought 6x new Bremi Ignition Coils from GW they didn't have Bosch in stock and I was convinced by the sales person these are good quality similar to Delphi coils so I bought them all, not knowing in 2 months time these would misfire under full load a complete waste of money.

I installed the original coils back and the car is running smooth again, I first thought I didn't installed them correctly because the original ones have a positive click on the spark plug and the replacement coils just sit on top of the spark plug thinking maybe they loosened and it was not the case.

I ran bremi coils on my e92 n54 335i for over 6 years till I sold it.. no problems now also have them in my 435 no issues on my end.. 2 months is very short time for coils to last maybe try returning them? Is all of them faulty?

I think their policy has no warranty on electrical parts. I'll try my luck to return them it's just disappointing, I believe it's one that has failed but my OCD cannot allow different ignition coil brands i just removed all of them.

From what I gather, people don't have much fun with electrical goodies (e.g. plugs, coils and MAFs etc.)

Why can they not offer a similar warranty to manufacturers on electrical parts unless there is something inherently inferior with what they are selling? (Especially when they are charging similar amounts to the dealers... like within 20% in my case).

I've used GW for very few items and none of them very big - filters, wipers, bulbs, fluids etc etc... This is despite hearing all the great stories about the savings to be had there over the years when it comes to parts. I have never found them to be cheap enough that they make sense and in many cases, they were more expensive. I guess your mileage will vary.

I do believe some things are worse tolerance or possibly factory seconds from there as well as the US guys have started to find out with AAP and Autozone etc. I have no proof this is the case except all the anecdotes from those who share. In many cases GW also just don't have what I need and somehow can't get it, even if it is on their website. It's been this way for a few things.

It isn't just BMW & Alfa. On the Porsche (Despite it being Touareg/Q7 shared parts in some instances) they are also more expensive than Porsche . How that works I don't know...

GW have gotten very expensive the bigger they got, I habe returned to smaller independant spares shops, and usually have to wait a day or two if they dont have the stock but they are alot cheaper.
