Sounds orgasmic. Ok, I need one of these now!!!

Where do you live again? ha ha. Very very awesome! Wish you many amazing miles with her!

If u can withstand the waiting period then Go for it u won’t be disappointed. But find out first what the requirements are to get it working in your car before pulling the trigger . Don’t get the intake then it sits in the box because you can’t get it to work. The e46 is more complicated than just fitting intake and loading alpha n . Think u also need the later model ecu to flash with the csl firmware then u also might need some hardware for the map sensor part .

Cheers @johndoe. I have done an alpha N tune before on my car when it was supercharged. I have all the parts required to convert to Map sensor. Will use HTE to tune the car via Zoom on Dyno.

the phone doesn’t seem to capture the sound properly as it’s much more louder in real life. But the video clip gives u an idea of how much louder over the stock airbox it is .

Wow!!! Something to aspire too! Sounds incredible!

Congrats !

Thank you . it’s a really special car , Super rewarding and very engaging for the driver . These days it’s rare to find such an experience . Everytime I drive it hard or on the limit , I get out after and think to myself fuck I’m tired and I worked so hard piloting this thing but thank god both me and the car survived lol

A friend of mine had a video assignment and needed a car to shoot so I offered the Z4, Honestly i expected them to come there with cell phones and make a sloppy video but it was not the case, they had decent gear for university students and put together this really nice video... i was impressed, not bad for students.

I recently attended round 1 of the Vilaca Racing Series at Red Star raceway. It was an awesome day out. The car is very Capable, and performed exceptionally throughout the day even with high temps and long sessions it never skipped a beat.

The other drivers that attended were also kitted out and very serious about racing...

The next day i put the car up to inspect the wear from hard track use,
photo_2022-04-07_10-52-47.jpg

My brakes even though they worked surprisingly well under heavy use, had taken a beating.. the pads wore down by atleast 50% life, the heat at some of the braking zones got so intense, that the red paint on the calipers started to burn and change color to black. the Brake pad wear sensor also melted to the point where it was no longer usable...

I've started rounding up parts and fluids and hope get it ready for the next round of the Vilaca Series on 14 may at Formula K in benoni.

On the list of things to do is:
1. Replace the engine oil, Oil filter and Ceratec. (current oil has only done less than 2000kms but it has been alot of super high oil temps at the track , so will replace to peace of mind)
2. Flush and bleed the cooling system and engine block with new coolant.
3. Upgrade the brake lines to steel braided lines, Fit ferodo Racing pads, Flush and bleed with super racing brake fluid. I also plan to cut and weld 50mm steel collars to the dust shield in order to ram air from the front bumper to the brake discs for better cooling..

Yeah, Redstar is no joke if you are pushing it. You really need to keep in mind that your brakes are going to take a pounding there, especially stock oem pads. I would suggest running EBC Yellow Stuff or Endless street/trackday pads for an event such as this. But I see you went with Ferodo Racing. Not familiar with them but I am sure you did your homework and they will be suffice.

My first time at Redstar saw me having to park the car after only 2 sessions due to my rear pads wearing out so fast. I was using EBC yellow in the Front and OEM at the rear. The OEM pads died so fast compared to the EBC, even with my car having a 56% front brake bias.

Awesome update. Keen to see more. Have been thinking about joining the Valaca racing series. Shall come past during the next one check it out.

Yeah red star is very very hard on the brakes . I was running the bendix ultimate pads in the front so they didn’t exactly wear down completely . Still has about 30% life and was safe to drive back home with from the track . But I’m sure textar pads would have been finished in one session especially with the semis coz the grip is insane and it makes the brakes work super hard.

I’m trying the ferodo track compound pads with the super racing fluid next time , they seem to be very aggressive and I’m sure will start to eat the discs faster . Maybe I’ll look into big brake kit once the discs are finished . Will see how it goes .

You should go check out the vilaca race days , I do the daily entries for the tracks I wanna race , not going to do the whole series as 7 track days in a year is a lot on the car, funds , spare time ect . But it’s very well organized and u have lots of fun . Submitted my entry last night .
