Thanks for the kind words everyone...
Exhaust back boxes where cleaned with AutoSol and an aggressive compounding applicator it took about 16Hrs worth of elbow grease... But it was ok since i attended to them while i was waiting for parts to arrive...
The actual difference between the Z4 and M3 diff
its a completely different diff... with a completely different crown and pinion (Z4 uses the bigger thicker crown and pinion) , the Clutch style LS unit is also different with the Z4 using a slightly bigger carrier housing with way more friction plates. maybe they both the same 3.62 ratio but there has to be a difference in the way they transfer the power to the wheels..

While the car was stripped out, I decided to change these so that i wouldn't have to open again to get to these at a later stage..

Those back boxes and exhaust tips. Could you explain the procedure and the aggressive compound that you used? Are you acid dipping these things or something?
Are you just using elbow grease or are you using a dremel to polish with?

> Using APC and a kitchen scourer, remove the dirt layer and wipe clean (3 hrs)
> then with Metal Cleaner Polish and a kitchen scourer to clean up the dirt left behind from the APC (6hrs),
> Using a hard applicator pad and autosol hand polish the light scratches caused from the kitchen scourer in previous steps... this takes very long but a few hours/brandy's later it will be good as new..
No Acid dipping and no dremel, I think a dremel will take forever because the heads are tiny and this is a lot of surface area to clean....
To make light work of that you can use an oscillating mutlitool with a 3M scourer attachment and then felt polishing mop attachment, perfect for renovation/cleanup/polish. Fein multimaster is the best but Ryobi also makes a 300W cheapie that's very good for the money and around R1k.johndoe said:osiris said:

Ever since i got my car, it had an issue of a slight hesitation which occurs for a split second when you press the accelerator and then she starts going normally.
The following did not have any effect on this issue:
> New Spark Plugs and service
> Injector Cleaner
> Octane Booster
> Throttle adaptations
So last week i managed to get some time to have a look, Decided i'd pull off the Intake Plenum and ICV and Clean them up and fit it back... Issue resolved, no more hesitation... Car pulls strong through out the Revs.

The tyre lettering is painted red on my car.... I didn't like the white stick on kits that everyone is putting on their tyres... to me it looks weird as its just white rubber text that you stick on to the tyre over the existing branding.. so i decided to paint mine neatly... I wanted red instead of white as the white stands out too much...

LoL I dont think i'll ever sell this thing... Puts a smile on my dial everytime I jump in and turn the key.
