GREATEST SERVICE vs WORST SERVICE

Hi guys, I hope you guys dont mind but I have a major bone to pick, and alot of compliments to give as well. Please let me explain in the way I know best.

CAR PROBLEM: EML warning light comes on, Valvetronic Internal Fault found.

SUPPLIER 1 RESPONSE: Replace Valvetronic Motor and Sensor.

SUPPLIER: e-car KYALAMI - MIDRAND

SUPPLIER 2 RESPONSE: Replace Valvetronic Motor / Sensor fine.

SUPPLIER 2 : TUNETECH - JUDITHS PAARL - JOHANNESBURG

ISSUES WITH SUPPLIER 1: On contacting supplier 1 (ecar) they quote me R16000 to do the replacement of the valvetronic motor & valvetronic sensor. this included 3 hours of labour.

on myself contacting BMW agents (AutoBavaria Midrand and AutoBahn Kempton Park) I was told that the total cost of the parts is R7900 including vat.

E-cars labour is R300 / Hour.

so, some maths: R16000 - R900 (labour) - R7900 (parts) = R7200 markup on parts. WTF!!!

FINAL VERDICT: NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER TAKE YOUR CARS TO E-CAR IN KYALAMI, MIDRAND.

SUPPLIER 2: NO ISSUES, ONLY COMPLIMENTS:

I contacted Tunetech, speaking to the owner, shaun singh who says bring the car in at 07:30. So I did, this morning. Within 30 minutes I was called back saying that they found the fault on the car, and that the Valvetronic motor needs replacement. I said, Quote me. They replied in 1 hour with a total quote for the replacement of a new, original Valvetronic motor of R 3700 including VAt and labour.

WOW Tunetech, BMW specialists at a very reasonable price.

FINAL VEDRICT: TUNETECH, TUNETECH, TUNETECH. I SUGGEST THAT ANYONE WITH BMW ISSUES, INCLUDING REGULAR SERVICING GO TO THEM. I WILL ONLY AND ALWAYS USE TUNETECH FOR ALL MY BMW NEEDS. + THEYRE RMI APPROVED FOR ALL WARRANTY NEEDS.

I agree. Just cos we own BMW's doesnt mean we should be ripped off.

Also if in Durbs, go to RM Autotech. The owner, Rupesh, is a master with BMW's. He has worked with our family and friends BMW's for a long time. He is just as good as Tunetech.

As for CPT, Ive heared only good things about ZEEMAX.

So for me, I will only take my car to 3 places, depending on where I am:- Tunetech in Jozi
Rm Autotechin Dbn
Zeemax in CPT

Sorry bout the punting, but im quite chuffed at the service ive gotten. and I also feel that I owe it to the dude in DBN that I mention him.
