Genuine Barn Find

To be honest, the car has been standing since November. I just ran out of time to get it sorted at the moment. So it's collecting dust in the garage. I've also moved back temporarily to JHB so again the car is going to get little attention. Sad really.
I can source a tank from a distributor in Denmark for about R4000, BMW OEM part, which I don't think is too bad, so I am looking into that. I am also considering getting the tank moulded and made out of some sort of composite material. So I'll see how things go, unfortunately other priorities have popped up though!

Bump because you taking long and you should finish the car and I want to drive it and other things that I forgot.

Oh ya and finding parts in JHB is easier than in CPT :fishwack:

So I'm thinking of changing this to a custom build.....any thoughts/ideas guys? Would be interesting to see what someone would do given the chance. I have some ideas but would like some thoughts!

what would i do? just to be different... I'd leave the outside as is, inside as is.

then i'd:

bilstein b8's shocks
h&r sport springs
powerflex bushes allround
ireland engineering swaybars front and back
ireland engineering strutbars front and back

obviously a rear limited slip diff, probably e34 m5 donor

e34 m5 calipers all round + e32 master cylinder

then to really be different, i'd go 3.0 liter turbo diesel but obviously tweaked a bit
MONSTER torque to light up the rear tyres easily.

thats all, nothing major
haha

Lol I would do everything that Anton said except I would keep the stock engine and rebuild it for some more power, I think the car already has a Ls diff in it :=):

Well.. you may be in luck...

look here:

Bmw e28 with e39 m5 motor. this vehicle has since been finished and has been at a few car shows etc..

why am i mentioning a e28? well e28 and e24 share alot of similiar underpinnings including the engine bay/engine mounts etc..

watch that video.. its S I C K!!

They do indeed anton. Only thing is mine is based on the E12 cos of the year. They changed the underpinnings in 1984 when the E28 came out. But I reckon it's much of a muchness.

Well, if memory serves, it already has the LS diff :=):

Put a V8 in it :fencelook:

EDIT: I agree with you, you should put a V8 in it.
