Wes,thank you for everything mate, you have been amazing, and guys, you cannot find a more genuine person around than Wes,he was brilliant the whole time!
Anyways, enough of that sentimental kak. :roflol:
Up,you gotta see the car in the flesh to believe it,I was amazed yesterday when we were cleaning it just how straight it actually is. Ya, there are the odd blemishes here and there, but I wouldn't expect anything else from a car that old. There is a rust spot on the front bumper just behind the chrome, and one on the rear bumper just below the bootlid. The only reason I know it's there is cos I can see it reflecting in the chrome
The paint is 100% original, the car has never had a touch up anywhere.
As for the radio.....R622 in 1981 must be like R10k now! And that was absolute state of the art. I think it is the most complicated piece of kit on the car!
V1p3r,I love these old Bimmers, they just ooze elegance and class. I meant to tell the guys,I was given some brochures from the guy who facilitated the sale. So he was a BMW salesman in the late 70's and early 80's,so he gives me this stuff,I check it,and it is ORIGINAL brochures for the launch of the first 7 series, with an invitation as well to a gala event. In brand new condition.
Guys,as far as the tyres are concerned, alexander, expect a PM from me! I don't want to change the rims if I can absolutely help it,I LOVE them. But I do know that tyres are going to be nigh on impossible to find and freaking expensive.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys,I really appreciate it!
