I was using BP Diesel 50ppm, and when they couldn't supply 50ppm anymore (at my usual filling station) I just continued using BP with 500ppm, was hoping that with the cleaning power it would still be beneficial. My car used to smoke quite alot, but thought it's done a fair mileage so wasn't complaining. Through an acquaintance of an acquaintance I was told BP low sulfur was the best (He worked for one of the big petrochemical companies).
I recently changed back to SASOL and wow, I can feel the difference. After not even a tank, it's definately smoking less and feels like it's got more power.
Although this is really subjective, especially the feeling of power, I definitely feel it's smoking less.

I personally only use Shell and BP at the moment, but that is only by personal preference. The Caltex Techron additive is apparently amazing at cleaning up carbon, but I do not have one close by me that sells unleaded 95.
