I remember this V8 M. Saw it come to the FRC shop 2 weeks back. The car sounds awesome, even when it is idling you can just hear that there's something different which I think is the cams. It also has the Technocraft or something like that intake.

I agree, the car holds boost so much better...the Dvs come into play at high boost. I have the Stett pipe & Forge DVs (combo)...also with the yellow springs...wont run the car without the DVs.

There is also some sing from the DVs on 15 and more psi. :thumbs:

That v8 m is very strong,lots of work done on it.Think its an xcede car

That v8 m is very strong,lots of work done on it.Think its an xcede car

Also "heard" it was 6 cars ahead of a 12.8s K04 GTi

Update :
had a few runs with a friends modded ko4 golf.
from low rolling speeds the 335i is stronger , but up top the ko4 comes back .
if we had gotten to silly speeds the ko4 would have been ahead no doubt :flyfun:

the car had some hesitation and seemed to loose power on a few runs!!
this was all very perplexing as on longer runs the 335i seems to excel!!

got home switched the airbox for the cones.
car is MUCH stronger !
cant believe it!!!

heat is the biggest problem , if i had water meth the cones would work.
with out cooling mods stock airbox ftw

Sounds like a "limp moment" to me. Have your checked engine for any faults or shadow faults?

stronger is a relative term , shorter distances the 335i had the edge on topend the heatsoak plays a a major role , remember the ko4's all have bigger coolers , induction, and water meth , heat is not an issue.

but yes 262wkw is enough to get you in the ball park
but some ko4's make more than that:bangdesk:

definately not limp mode , just a matter of heatsoak , cones without cooling dont work on the freeway!

what u using to boost yr octane?

u gonna give it another run now that it feels stronger with the airbox?

Anile, stop the runs and mod the car and get done with the job...:rollsmile: :idea:

You cannot expect to compete with modded cars out there with just a tune and a cone. Lots of power is to be made by getting rid of the cats and maybe an after market muffler. The 335 is also strong on top if your car is delimited...if not drop me a PM for a delimiter.

Add meth to that equation and the same golf will be worse for the wear....

The hesitation or drop in power is not necessarily intake related...not sure how the software chippies work but it sounds more like an octane deprivation in the higher rpms...

high twins , maybe my mix was wrong with the nf!
but meth is a must !!!!

the car is delimited , we never got over 180!!!!!
i am planning cooler and dp's next!!!
what do you suggest?

Now we talking...go for DPs and the cooler as well as meth. I run a complete catless system and the midrange punch is phenomenal. The reason for the IC is because i dont always run meth and then the IC help curb the notorious heatsoak.

Remember we use to have problems running with the DPs in the past to keep limp mode away, but nowadays the sw O2 simulators are very good to keep the CELs away...go for it :thumbs:

sounded like low octane induced limp mode to me.

anile8 do the necessary upgrades and then phone your K04 friend for a rematch. he has peaked and u r running similar times. you still have a way to go. after that its going to be a big bye bye gti

i just wish you luck when it comes time for servicing :roflol:
