e92 m3 motor plan cancelled

If your car is 2nd hand I would go after the guy who sold you the car(if it fits in within those 2000km) tbh.

The only way the over rev could have happened is if a) missed a gear (b) You chipped your m3 and a few tuners up the redline(which you said you didn't). The limiter can't save you going from 4th to 3rd instead of 5th there is way to much load. No car can save that. Bouncing off the limiter(not for long) before a gear will not trigger it.
I'll be that guy that stands on the other side of the fence and say that bmw don't cancel a motorplan because they are bored. Try retrace your steps +- 2000km ago. Was there another driver? Dealership? Did you miss a gear?

What I don't understand is this half active motorplan? You have it or you don't. If anything goes wrong with your car with your 1/2 motorplan they will just pin most things to the over rev. Try go to a dealer where you have a relationship with and ask for the details. Maybe one of the SA's can help out here? I'm sure you will get some nice cred with the fanatics. Write to BMWSA and take them on if you did not do an oopsy.

The dealers seem to have a one up over many consumers because of 'our' lack of knowledge. Thankfully forums like this help each other out to get the right information and really give stick back to BMWSA.

It irritates me when people have these issues because its just bmw trying to get out of cr@p. They know its a fault of their car but will try and blame it on the client to get out of paying for a new motor or repairs to the vehicle. (i'm not saying it's true for all customers, but i have had too many friends fighting BMW)

If it's happened to you its probably happened to many people before...

Such a shame that BMWSA react in this way instead of trying to assist the customer :thumbdo::thumbdo:

Dear BMW

what does it say about your products if you not willing to stand behind them
The M3 is supposed to be your best product and what makes you great

why wont you fix it so it can get out there and show the world...

Promotec's advice is the best imo.

put it in writing that you object
tell them to send ecu away to prove the car was modified
make you mobile in the meantime.

BMW sound very confident about their facts. Are you sure the car was never modded by you or the previous owner?

back to our discussion the other day, why cant you ask them to check the car to ensure its stock, and if it is, pay R2500 to reinstate MP?

The previous owner will not matter because in order for a motorplan to be passed to the next owner, BMW would have done an inspection.

So obviously there was nothing wrong with the car that's why the motorplan got transfer to the new owner. But, if by changing to the wrong gear caused the damage, BMW is not responsible to cover the motor. The motor did not malfunction, it was caused by the drivers error.

One of the dealers told me that somewhere in the motorplan clause, it states "our BMW cars are not built or to be used in some form of drag racing"
That's utter BS, but if its there and they want to be idiots about this matter, they will say, the car was used in an abusive manner!

BMW have the best lawyers and loop holes to fall back on, I hope that you get your motorplan back, a e92 M3 is pretty much worth nothing with a motorplan.

Now, take the next piece of advise cause its coming from a good lawyer(me) lol....Get yourself a good lawyer, give him all documentation they've sent you so far, tell him everything you know and let him start corresponding from there. If i was in JHB i would've done it with great pleasure, goodluck!!

Guys this is never going to end was just chatting with a buddy of mine a few hours ago about the next M3 and how BMW will make it compulsory to inspect every M3. As soon as you own one you are going to be targeted so what's the fun in buying the next turbo charged M3. Guess we just have to keep it stock or just do hardware mods. This is BS will need to start looking at other brands or just stick to x35i

we have 3 options as I see it

1) stick with x35i
2) buy a really expensive performance car that doesnt require modding
3) get a VW as they are more mod friendly (have i redeemed myself kish? :fencelook:

Just double check that your car hasn't had software loaded on it sometime during it's lifespan before you. Rather verify on your side first as you not the first owner before you bring down a good brand. If you hundred percent sure its software free take it further.

Hi Sash

Never in the thread have you said that you have not slipped a gear for sure? So have you?
Thats like an accident I dont think motorplan can be held responsible for damage resulting from that. (Insurance maybe?)

So you need to be sure no software was done and that not you or a dealership or some guy that took your car for a valet did not slip a gearshift.

Like you said it has to be passed on by inspection our car has been through inspection to our name and nothing was picked up and then after the next owner from us paid us for the car we sent it to transfer to his name and rapidly new technology was in place and they could tell the car was over revved 2owners back that's why we only buy c63's now drive the shit out of it with no cancellation of plan and guess what the current one even has software done and filters changed:joy:
