E90 Xenon Bulb

Good Morning All,

Yesterday my E90 threw up the CC-ID 120 code (Left Dipped Beam Failure).
My E90 is equipped with Xenon Lights so I assume that the "Globe" has finally blown.

I got a quotation from BMW for R3957.

Has anybody else replaced these globes and where can one buy them?

Will appreciate any help.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you all for the help,
I went to Violet Electronics, they were very helpful.

Bulbs fitted perfect it was just a mission to get the covers off the back of the lights.

Thank you all for the input

Thanks!!

That's really cheap compared to BMW price!!!
There's a reason for that. And that reason is quality. Violet also sell bulbs for R4000 a pair. And I can tell you the light output in every way trumps the cheaper bulbs.

If violet has R4000 bulbs. I'm sure BMW will be selling them for R8000.
It is a known fact that dealers are over priced with the cost of their parts.

Re-Read my post and take note of the word "pair" and you are quite correct BMW do sell the PAIR for R8000.

I have had cheap R600 bulbs and I currently have the osram CBI 5000k as in the link above. Bought from theretrofitsource. And the difference is night and day.

I recon it is a Chinese knock off.
I also have no doubt that they are bad quality and probably will not last as long or perform like the original.

It is however better than driving with only one good light.

I have to book the car in for this and they can only fit me in next week.
Reason: they need to test the entire Xenon unit.
