F25 X3 xenon lights only outers working

Not sure if this topic was mentioned before but yesterday was going to adjust the headlights on my 2011 F25 X3 when i noticed that only the outer lights are used for both dipped and main beams!! The inners do not come on. I then switched off the lights and tried the flash function on the lights. I could have imagined it but i thing the inners came on for flashing. Any way that one could perhaps code the car to get the inners to work in conjunction with the outers on maybe main beam? On other forums people mentioned that the inners are dummeys, but mine show a similar xenon type lens. On my 2005 120d both inners and outers are on when on brights. Car has xenon outers (dipped beam) but with halogen (inners) for bright.

Yet to read the whole manual. I tend to read it only when in need. Became aware that they are dummies when i started Googling it. Not sure why they did not put globes in as the lights, even with xenons, are not very good. On my 2005 1 series with xenons for dipped beam and halogens for brights, the light output is much better. Just my opinion.

I find the bi-xenon lights on my E90 pretty decent - especially with the brights on.

I do agree that the dummy lights in the centre is a bit annoying, if prefer for them to be usable. Can't e er have too much light in my opinion.
