So while trying to diagnose a lag in throttle response, I decided to remove the intake plenum and have a look around.
Safe to say, it was probably never off the car prior to this weekend :fencelook:
On closer inspection of the ITBS, it was quite clear that some cleaning would be required, a surprising amount of carbon build up..
Weapon of choice for the cleaning was CRC Throttle body & Intake cleaner, this worked quite well, but not nearly as effective as the LM intake cleaner...
After some elbow grease..
Then the area received a (really) quick wipe down.
It seems like the carbon build up definitely played a role in the throttle response issues, driving to work this morning felt MUCH better with almost no lag at all. I will be ordering the rebuild kit for the TBAs soon so I'll have another chance at giving the area a deeper clean.
