?? For the gearbox I presume!!

Yep brand new gearbox with the right shape bellhousing for the V10, then you just need a flywheel and clutch which you can have fabricated locally.

Sold my 05 with 66,000km for R275,000. :thumbdo:

That must have been a bitter pill to swallow!! :nonono:

Yah what to do. Motorplan expires in June next year with no renewal option. Had panel work done to it with a nightmare of a repair job so basically the car lost a lot of value so I decided to rather cut my losses and sell it to a dealer. Didn't really try private market as I wasn't satisfied meeting the new owner knowing the problems of the car.

Hmmm, if I had the money, could see myself doing this...

Often a problem with M cars when the motorplan is nearing the end. Was that the truck that smashed into your M5? I remember reading about that some time ago... :nonono:

Yah it was truck related. The panel shop did a very bad job. When I took it in I asked them to touch up everywhere and neaten the car up. Got the car back looking like it had rolled and every panel had visible spray work. It was a BMW approved panel shop in Midrand.

That's pretty shocking! I remember seeing pics and it was quite a nasty shunt! Yep, I agree with not wanting to sell it privately when this is the unfortunate case. I would make a useless used car salesman!

BMW approved panel shop my butt....

I had a customer come in with his hail damaged isuzu in prestine condition otherwise, guy keeps really neat cars.

Anyway, we got talking and he told me about his E90 that has the smallest scratch on the door, just scraped a wall.

BMW quoted the gent 8k to repair, as they have to replace the door.

THis is bullshit, E90 front doors go for 9k by themselves without paint or labour,

The other thing is , the car is white, and the damage is in the middle of the panel, small blow over, new clear coat, flat and polish, in and out in 2 days. 2k maximum....

The thing that pissed me off is that they told the customer that he MUST have it done with BMW else he is going to loose his motorplan..... Bullshit...

Not 1 month ago, a BMW dealership came out to me stating that they will sign off work that I do on BMW for a "warentee re-instatement fee"....

THen to hear that they pull stunts like this on George's car....

Its pretty bad. I couldn't stand looking at the car. BMW SA called me to ask about the service and I complained bitterly. Didn't get any feedback after that.
I need to have the 335 touched up so will be giving you a call. The car will be available 18-25 November. Rear bumper respray and front bonnet. You can experiment with the seat module same time?

hi george would you recommend buying a E60 M5

I would. As long as you can accept the fact that its not a automatic. The gearbox is very bouncy at parking lot speeds. Also a must in my opinion is for the car to have motorplan. There is so much that can go wrong and each thing has a major repair bill. Its not like you can go to the junk yard and get spares.
