it seems you are the person to talk to about engin swops.

ive got a idea, dont know if i will do it or not,but could a v8 bmw motor be put into a navara?

i know stupid question, but i have to know.

nissan make awesome V6 i would rather fit one of those :fencelook:

yep they have a v6 4l petrol which if not mistaken can push out 198kw.

was just thinking what it would be like with a v8.

i know of a guy that got rob green to supercharge his v6 navara, something silly like 280kw,said he could pull ahead of a e90 m3 in the first 3 gears before the m started to reel him in,problem with this and the reason he sold it was that he was getting 2kilometers to a litre, also the standard v6 gets about 7 kilometers to litre,so was thinking if you put in a v8 would it be lighter?

I dont think the BMW V8 will be lighter on fuel its probably down to aerodynamics and body weight...

Ok, did some investigations on 6cyl parts and here is what I have so far. The cylinder head is the same for 325i and 330i, valves are the same too. Exhaust cam is the same but the intake cam is different. So only difference between 325i cylinder head and 330i cylinder head is the intake cam, everything else is the same.
I picked up a complete 330i intake manifold with injectors, rail, pipes and throttle body today, tomorrow I will collect a set of Z4 M roadster electric seats in black for the touring, they bolt up and will look awesome in the touring.

Now Im thinking it would be better to stroke my 93 000km 325i motor to 3.0lt instead. :bravo:

3.0lt crank and rods, 325i pistons and 3.0lt intake camshaft, 3.0lt intake manifold with injectors and throttle body with intake and maf.

325i piston is 10.5:1 compression, 330i piston is 10.2:1 compression. I must compare the intake cams to see why they are different, if the 330i cam has more lift then we may experience piston to valve problems. Im thinking it may be cut differently and that is all, we will see.

Ive had similar things before from a few people... its always better to make sure from a few sources...

we can probably assume all e46 heads are the same because the 323i and 325i engines are the same with different bits attached... so i dont think they would cast another head for the 320i and the 328i because it would not make sense...

I just picked up these seat from MD House Auto in Wynberg, they are from a Z4 M roadster. Got them for R5k, bargain. They bolt into the e46 no problem and have the same wiring plug, bonus!!

Comparison pics, yes the new seats do need a clean...

Even the stock first aid kit from the e46 clips onto the Z4 seat.

I weighed the seats, Z4 electric seat weighs 25.1kg. Std manual e46 seat weighs 23.5kg.
I cut the plugs off the Z4 so I can wire them up to the stock fuse location in the fuse box.
