Sometimes you need to be quiet........I'll play devil's advocate and say if you got the car for a really good deal, track it. As Benji said, a good road car is a fantastic base for a track car. Its a 330i, not an M3. There are loads of them around. Make a track car out of it, and sell the parts you strip out of it to recoup some costs. You'd probably get a decent amount of money for the interior pieces.
I went to look at a few and always left feeling dissapointed and knowing that it will become money pits because of other issues, and as I type this I know it sounds a bit hypocritical as I am looking for something that is not neat for track car, but when it is neat I don't really want to track build it...there are plentyyyyy pre facelift, 6 cylinder, non sunroof, manual e46's floating around for cheap...youll have an easier option with the props...you can build in an iron block 3L etc. and pop on 330 brakes.
That's like asking a lady her weight, or if she is pregnant.now the "rude" question that every one wants to ask...how much you pay for it!🫢

I guess if you want to purchase a car and take it as is to the track and drive it home after it aint bad...going to look good for sure.I went to look at a few and always left feeling dissapointed and knowing that it will become money pits because of other issues, and as I type this I know it sounds a bit hypocritical as I am looking for something that is not neat for track car, but when it is neat I don't really want to track build it...
Perhaps it is specifically the 'Individual' and 1 owner vehicle that comes with this one that makes me ponder the decision, but like somebody said, its not that a unique car and there's plenty of them around so I should just build a bridge and drive over it with my track built car 😁
Thanka Benji, I have it in my saved liat but have not mustard the courage to go have a look as I am unsure of the result it would yeild when I do go have a look...
Not affiliated, but consider this, I can guarantee you will spend more trying to build your own track car...

My 330i is exactly like this:This is the first time I see a 2003 e46 with what looks like pre-facelift items. That climate control panel was revised in the facelift. Weird how you have all the mtech2 trim but a 5 speed gearbox. Thought the mtech2 trim came out after the 6 speed change, might be wrong though. But I am definitely not wrong on that climate control panel. Even 2002 cars had the updated version.
Otherwise, looks neat. What a difficult choice to choose between making it more neat vs track car.
Where did you get your steering wheel recovered? Price? I need to do mine...My 330i is exactly like this:

M tech 2
facelift
2002 model

Old style HVAC controls

Hey man,Mine too
Mtech 2 touring - looks same as op with tape lol (just need t check if I have asc/dsc)
330d 5 speed though
Oct 2001 build date
Very interesting. I didn't know the mtech2 kit was available in 2001 already. You definitely have ASC. The DSC only came default late 2002. Even then, you would have an ASC button even with the DSC installed. Only way to know if you have DSC, is too look at how many brake lines you have around the brake booster. The DSC have a bunch extras and an extra module there.Mine too
