look if you're keeping the car then i don't think its pointless. But buy a car as a donor like EVM & myself & a few others have done.

@individj, if you going the donor route, perhaps.. My biggest issue with over-spending on these cars is the simple fact that should something happen, you will be left with nothing to show for it.

Let's be honest, a new bumper and headlights is enough to write the car off with the current values.

Where is the fanatic in you @KPM_330 !

That said, if anything happens to my car now, I take it broken and take out all the good parts and either put it in another E46 or strip and sell it that way, far more money to be made like that.

i was lucky enough to not overspend so i guess i dont think of it like that.

ja i had my 330i individual written off because of the front bumper basically...would of kept it if it were manual but wasn't going to risk the Auto

@Tinuva, haha, the fanatic in me is still here.. Else I wouldn't be in the process of dropping a sh!tload of cash, on the suspension.

I like to think of myself as a realist, however.. The car has huge sentimental value to me, therefore I am willing to overlook my usual thought processes.. To someone else, this would be an exercise in futility and they would appreciate all angles, before embarking on a chosen route.. :tiptoe:

@evnmopwr, I have the very same intention, which is why I opted to keep this car instead of the 335i.. But bottom line, you can be the best driver in the world, but given the state of our roads (driver behaviour, condition of the roads and general theft), it is always a concern driving around under-insured.

Your case is pretty unique, so I understand if you don't see it my way.

Ok I can definitely respect that, to give the OP all viewpoints and he can then decide for himself which way to go.
