So I've been looking all over in my engine bay for a 20 pin connector. I'm  still looking...lol. I know about the obd2 connector under the steering. Did the face-lift model not come out with a 20 pin connector?

I stand under correction, but around 2000 when BMW introduced the ODBII in the E39 (under the dash), they dropped the round ODBI connector (from the engine). I'm not aware of cars that have both, but I could be wrong.

This is correct. The engine bay connector was on Obd1 cars

Thanks for clearing this. :ty: Now onto why I was looking for the connector...I did a oil change and want to reset the service lights. Watch a few videos on you tube on how to reset the lights. I tried the method whereby you press the left button on the cluster and turning the key till the lights come on. Leave the button and press again for 5 seconds and press same button quick. Tried it a few times but no luck. Can one reset the lights using a diagnostic machine/tool?
