E39 Appreciation Thread

I am needless to say an E39 nut. And the M5 is just sublime. It manages to be an ultimate all rounder and sheer driving pleasure. The power just comes and comes in bucket loads then you put your foot down.

I love taking people for a drive and blow their mind with 3/4 throttle and early shifts. Get their opinion then do it again with fill noise and rev range... And that V8... there is not even a PG rated emoticon to describe it.

imho there are 3 wheels for an e39.

the 17" staggered style 32's
the 18" style 65 (proper m5 wheels)
the 18" m parallels

i was lucky with my 530d build to find a ORIGINAL set of e39 m5 wheels
which still has the original paint job (lead paint), the shadow paintjob on the m5 e39 wheel is almost impossible to replicate.

and the problem with the refinishing process is the lead paint used originally with the wheels is no longer available

And style 66? :fencelook:

I wouldn't put M5 wheels on a non M5 though...

Have to agree, I would not be able to put M5 wheels on a non-M5, even if they ROCK! Thats why I looove them M-para's. No chance of finding any tho...

Style 66 aint too bad...
