Veridico I agree , the CAR mag road tests of Dec 1995 ( 328i ) and Nov 1993 ( 325i vanos ) have the 328i at 100km/h in 7.2 vs 8.1 , 120 km/h in 9.95 vs 11.1 and 1 km in 27.62 vs 28.68.
I don't expect to take on a 328i with my 325i at the robot grand prix and give him grey hairs , just make him work a bit to stay ahead !!!
Anyway both sound nice , personally I prefer the deeper 328i sound to the more urgent 325i sound .
Here in East London branch , exhaust and chip over R 10k !:bawling:
Redline Rules !!!!

:excited: Finally, getting a BMW, its not new, I dont want to jinx the deal so wont mention what it is, but its a less common e46 3 series, doesn't have the most powerful of engines and its in near mint condition. Any guesses? Im sure some will guess what it is

Honestly , I think the E36 328i has more presence than the E46 (personal opinion) but if you find an E46 with the Indiv/Sportpack setup that should be the one to get. The E46 is an awesome car, not to say the E36 is not, but theres something about the E46 that screams all day everyday, which makes it perfect for that. The E36 is awesome for handing out hidings though :p

And budget plays a big role.

As for the manifolds, I know the 328 and 325 have diff manifolds, you can see it when you look at them.
