Hey guys.
Not sure if you guys followed the recent DaytonaSupercar rally in the cape province. It was epic from all the pics and vids seen. I personally knew 2 ppl and they had a time of their life.

Now there’s one for performance cars should the M fans be interested.

According to my VPS installer, he said that after the Daytona Rally, he had a lot of VPS replacement work to do on most cars that were JHB based.

I am interested to see how many paying people they get vs. just a lot of hype behind it.

The organisers can certainly put on a show

@MR_Y that's interesting: the cars were transported down and were wrapped by greensky (we saw them all the week before they left) - Not sure why they would have needed VPS work unless they were messed up when being wrapped?

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: when those things started touching Porsche territory. An this is for car with a name that literally translates to "People's Car". Who are these "People"??? Madness.

Ja, TBH the GTI hate has always been strange, a new GTI is a premium vehicle. I'd guess in all but really experienced hands in a real world condition a GTI would be faster than (say) an M2.

The GTI thing got me as well.
So an older 135i isn't an M car, but a GTI is fine...

R70k to participate is a bit steep for most I think. Depending on which GTI you drive, might cost more than your car.

R70K is the start... besides which, the time is another story.

I think about going to the ring, doing a ring taxi or apex taxi in a GT3RS/720S, Tours of factories in Germany (or italy), HPDE at Hockenheim in a single seater - that won't cost much more than the R70K+extras per person it will cost you for this exercise and is more of a bucket list item than going on an extended high risk run and seeing/hearing cars you see every day.

This! Imagine your bucket list is going on a drive in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape with a GTI
