Unfortunately torching the car is easier said than done. There are parts on this car that are worth too much to just flog it off. The suspension, brakes, the vorsteiner rims, the light package, the diff, the carbon ac schnitzer mirrors, subframe and boot reinforcement etc are worth the price of the car alone. Let us not even mention the parts inside the engine. I even looked at buying an M135i and putting this car aside... but there was no soul to the M135i.(sorry M135i drivers, but its true).
We shall see how bad it is come Tuesday.
Things we think may have happened but are not sure.
1. Over fueling due to a tune file being wrong may have caused bore wash.
2. A piston ring installed upside down may have caused bore scrape and thus compression loss.
3. Piston rings not being gapped correctly may have cause the same.
4. This one is most unlikely but its here none the less. The bore/hone on the cylinder walls was incorrect and not according to CP/Carrillo specifications, thus causing compression loss.
Either way... There is a knock sound in the engine as mentioned before and this is either something going wrong inside the engine or flywheel. I will try record a video and post it for you guys.
Lastly, I have taken the car to a number of different mechanics as well as BMW fanatics who work on and own these kind of cars to get their opinions. Some think flywheel, others think something inside the engine. The BMW mastertech guys who own shops think it is the engine... so, I am leaning more towards their opinion on this one.
I am not looking for your guys sympathy. Truth is I wasn't even going to mention this on the forum, but I need to know the truth about what happened to this car as I paid a shitload of money for this engine and this isn't fair.
NOTE: This was not caused by the supercharger. Only bad installation of the engine parts, complete failure of the engine parts or excessively bad tuning could have caused this.
