seeing as the Vanos has to come off anyway Peter is just going to swap on a full overhauled unit and we will then fix the unit that comes off after

Change of name from Crescinda to Nita.

I am of the opinion that the name Nita will be better suited as the original Nita is a most polite young lady unless of course one pisses her off in which case she is likely to invite you for a session in the gas chamber


So Nita had the complete vanos unit changed as well as the oil pump disc which we re drilled.

Inlet side of the valve block (it controls the intake camshaft retard advance) was dry relative to the exhaust side.
This points to either a dead solenoid pack or valve body or both.

We shall open up the solenoid pack and look for any issues and will test the valve block as soon as we rig up a pressure system.

Tomorrow valve clearances will be set to accommodate the supercharger and high rpm.

Great... now we know why we had such horrible torque dips and car was struggling.

It appears that the name Nita is far more satisfactory to the car and she now performs accordingly.

Just had a chat with Chris who had a go with a Jeep SRT.

Nita pulls effortlessly all the way to 8K and the power delivery is smooth with no hesitation as was previously the case.

Doubt that she can take 4PiPer however I am now positive that Nita will account for herself with a close to his bumper run.

Let us see........I shall encourage Chris to have another go before the snail installation.
