I completely disagree.

Why don´t we support a home in dire need like

Lets leave the big Homes for the big guys. :fencelook:

Info

Colleen's Place of Hope is an orphanage for abused and abandoned children in Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town. It was founded by Colleen Naidoo and her husband Farrell in 1990 and since 2002 it has been officially registered as a nonprofit organization by the South African Department of Social Development.

Allgemeine Informationen

Most of the children at Colleen's Place of Hope have been victims of mental and/or physical abuse. They were dumped on the streets by their parents, seriously damaged during pregnancy or are HIV positive. We ensure that they are supplied with food, health care and education within the social environment of a big family.

I´ve contacted Colleen just now to email me a list with things they urgently need.

I support the idea of the smaller Orphanage

The bigger ones have support already i.e. by Ackerman's or the likes....

Visited a smaller "Reach out NPO Safe / Caring Home" in Richwood today.
I am so touched and impressed at the same time what Charmaine Ferreira is doing there, I can't express this in words! I had tears in my eyes

It's not an Orphanage even though there are kids in this home; it's also not an old age home even though there are pensioners.....
There is also a mother with her two son's as well as a couple who are homeless! Too many for that house.....

They all need our help (here is the website: CLICK HERE)

Let's help them :ty:

I will publish a list with things they urgently need later tonight

I´ve been with Rolf in Richwood today.

The reason why we selected a different home is that Colleen had to stop temporarily due to lag of money and a house.

What they do in Richwood is amazing. Maybe we can arange for the Charity Run a little Braai with home made salads and some Borewoers and Rolls and make this day for these people to some special day! :fencelook:

Brilliant idea. Let's make it a special day for them. This is better than a big orphanage. People that really need our help!

Ok,so I have caught up on this thread. Why don't we do their Christmas lunch for them guys? We each bring one item on that list, like a draw from a hat scenario, plus we sponsor their lunch for them. How hard can that be? We all go to Woolies or PnP and blow fist fulls of cash on crap there, why not take that, buy a pack of wors and 6 rolls or a dozen rolls,we can bring skottels, and we do their lunch for them and present a "Christmas Gift" to each of them. Rolf can be Father X5mas.
