It was a dice on the M5 in CPT about a year ago. They suspect the one guy touched the other at like 250+
Ja sorry it is very graphic, I'm just trying to get the guys to take care out there.

I have taken my car to 220km/h on a wide open quite road and within 20 seconds I had already come off the gas after thinking about what could actually go wrong.

M3_e36 to be honest i drew the same conclusion as calypso based on your previous posts... and was going to advise you to make sure your car is in perfect running order before you tuned it...

Did anyone watch the Topgear epi. where they had a shaphire 2.0 turbo, Merc 220(i think) and an E36 M3 with fuc*&d up front suspension, they took that car to close to 250km easily, so give the guy a break. Anyone will accept constructive criticism, so lets not put people down. Even the people who know it all right now, started off as dumb as the rest of us
why do people get so worked up about e36_m3s post? fair enough his car is not brand new, but thats his car. Where does one bring into this his financial position? so what if he chooses to not get a beading but instead wants to chip the car? does the beading add an extra star to the NCAP rating? that was totally irrelevant.
If you want to chip your car and run over 270... do it!! iv seen cars with more than just missing beading doing that speed.
also, is 160000ks a special number that the car automatically gets shot? iv personally owned a car with well over 250000ks thats in better condition that some cars doing 50 000ks. and i can assure you, it was no floppy banana.
all im saying is that people come here to learn from others and to help each other... they shouldnt get shot down, nor should their financial position have anything to do with the situation. If you can afford a new car thats working 100% then were all here are really happy for you. but not everyone here can afford to own prestine cars, including myself.
You want to advise him about the dangers of speeding and so forth, fair enough, but dont make him feel like he's too poor to make a difference. how is it fine that other members are allowed to talk about races and speeds reached without complaints, but suddenly this is a problem? a car can be brand new, doing the same speed as his, and can still spin off and meet with an accident for any given reason. then what? should we shoot them down and now bag on the driver as opposed to the car?

I will tell you the main reasons he got flamed!
1) doing 270km/h on a public road is just F*&(*& ludicrous. If he does it on a track fine, but you can kill someone so easily on the street doing this. Now he plans to get more speed from the car, so its not a once in blue moon thing to see what your ride can do, it s a regular occurrence for this guy.
2) This is "BMW FANATICS" forum! this guy owns a modern day classic in a condition that many of us will only ever dream about owning and three months after buying it he wants to know how he can rape 200 more rpm out of that motor so that he can win a dick measuring contest with his buddies............whilst risking peoples lives!
You are not going to make any friends by doing that sort of thing on here.
I guarantee that car will not be worth shit in a years time after this clown has finished!

At the end of the day, its his car, what he chooses to do to the car is up to him...people with new E92 M3's are upping their rpm, and everyone gives them the thumbs up...I would be modest and say that 10% of all racing is done on a track in controlled environements, the balance is being carried out on our "private test tracks", as its become known on this forum, we even have a seperate thread group for it. I somehow doubt that there is an M owner on this forum who hasn't pushed his car to see what it is cabable of, or why bother buying an M in the first place. Agree, speeding on the road is dangerous, but who here hasn't done it...speeding is speeding!

I share some of the sentiments shared here but lets not put the guy done here, he is on this forum because he need help from the more experienced. This is where we come in and help were we can. So let’s just all take a moment and think about what we saying here before we shout it out. I appreciate that fact that the speed he was doing was very high for a residential road but there is no need for name calling. The forum is here to help others when they need it. Please guys lets not take things personal here because most of us don’t even know each other. Let’s try lay off the bad comments. PEACE

6) I know the danger of doing those speeds who said I'm putting other peoples lives at risk do you know when I do have these gauges its at 2 in the morning on a 3 lane 5k stretch so only life I'm putting in danger is myself yes it sounds idiotic but at least mine than other, doesn't matter weather you on a track doing that speeds a legal track is not gonna save your life.
7) Its funny how when people have amazing 400m M3 and get sold so quick hey even thou it gets punished whole day at the track that makes it ok for the value of the ne? Its people like you that is pushing down value of my car saying I rape it everyday I wanna move the limiter higher so thank you for that.

Yes. I have been to 220km/h and realised it was stupid, I didnt come onto a forum and ask the guys how I could achieve 250km/h next time.

My car makes 380wkw does that mean I am a reckless driver? Why do I need so much? Why doesn't anyone come into my threads and express similar comments, is it because I am a long standing member?
With the theories expressed in this thread people wanting tires with better grip should also be attacked as it can be assumed they want to go faster around bends? or the guy that chose the 335i over the 320i, the 320i is ample enough to break all sort of road rules.
Guys give this guy a break as we going to land up being branded a non-mod friendly forum.
