Bru if this guy wants to raise his limiter by 200rpm or remove his speed governor its his choice.
I do not think people calling him a clown is fair at all.
My car makes 380wkw does that mean I am a reckless driver? Why do I need so much? Why doesn't anyone come into my threads and express similar comments, is it because I am a long standing member?
With the theories expressed in this thread people wanting tires with better grip should also be attacked as it can be assumed they want to go faster around bends? or the guy that chose the 335i over the 320i, the 320i is ample enough to break all sort of road rules.
Guys give this guy a break as we going to land up being branded a non-mod friendly forum.

Yoh!

Become a really hot topic I see.

No need to diss each other I just said M3_e36 should take it easy, and he has said he does.

I still think it's wrong to do 270kmh on any public road at any time of the day.

Take it to the track dude, then you can have some honest clean fun without having to wait till 4am.

The good spirit of the forum has recently been lost and there has been too many threads containing posts that offend / hurt peoples feelings. We all need to calm down and get back to being a friendly community of petrol heads that are here to assist each other with information / advice whenever needed. We also need to have an open mind on a wide range of matters as well as be big enough to take constructive criticism where appropriate. If we offend someone after assuming and posting, then we should also apologise and move on. Let's not lose the good spirit of this great forum!

In ten or more years............if you are still alive, you will look back on your life and realise how stupid you were...............hopefully!

I used attend and even participate in street racing but I was actually able accept that I was being an idiot and stopped doing it.

Yes. I have been to 220km/h and realised it was stupid, I didnt come onto a forum and ask the guys how I could achieve 250km/h next time

Name calling and judgements are unnecessary, we seek advice here and EXPECT to receive it in a CIVIL AND CORDIAL manner. There are plenty of people on the forum who are willing AND able to do this and we'd really rather hear from them, whether it's cautionery or praise.

...many times it's not WHAT you say but it's HOW you say it...

Ok, so the tame Metro Cop has been quietly reading in the background, and here is what I got to say...
"Skiet die bliksems!!!" I mean the ones that feel they need to get personal against this guy for driving 270km/h.
In all honesty, I have taken my "Blue Monster to cut out in fifth gear, and my speed limitter is removed, so true speed I cant say, didn't have the Garmin then, but the speedo passed the 250km/h line :mmm:
This was also done on a "private track" going towards Lichtenburg, with plowed mielie plantations on both sides of the road, and a clear view of the road into the horison. Now I NEVER tell you guys not to push your cars, I push mine, Hell, ask Fordkoppie, :) but I ALWAYS say, do it safely, well, as safely as you can, and DON'T get caught!! :nono: PS: the don't get caught goes for me too, if I get caught, then the "jap-vlag" comment would go for me too... EINA!!!
...Anyway, so M3_e36, all I can say to you is, IT'S YOUR CAR!!!! If you feel you want to put NoS on it, do it!! Turbo, Do it!! and if you feel you need to remove your beadings to save weight, Do it!!!!
I've put racing stripes ALL over my car, and I KNOW there are ALLOT of fanatics that like it, and others that TOTALLY dislike it, fact is, it's MY RIDE!! And if I like it, then thats my choice. How I drive it, is my problem, and how I modify it, is my problem.
Just one thing... and this is the MOST important one: Your actions has repercussions, that directly, and indirectly affects others, so even if it is JUST you that were to die in one of your "speed trials" on a "private racetrack", there will be others, those that stay behind, that will have to deal, and cope with your not being there anymore.
So, good luck with your mods, I REALLY trust and BELIEVE, there are fellow fanatics in here that will be more than glad to help and advise you, so PLEASE stick around mate, and get to know all of us. :thumb:

Wow I am really re considering using this forum for help
Is this what most BMW owners are like?

I also want to chip my M3 cause it feels like it gets going at 7000rpm especially in the lower gears, so I wouldnt mind being able to take to 7800 ish when I want to.

I was looking for something that will move the rev limiter and speed limiter just in case I find myself driving to Namibia.

but anyways I wont even bother asking something like that on this forum anymore :)
