I have been watching way too much "Police Interceptors" and "Traffic Cops" from the UK on BBC.
they wouldn't have much tolerance for this over there.
although we in SA are in a totally different boat altogether, and due to a lack of any form of public transport system, more and more people are forced to drive way beyond their ability and age.
accidents are called that, because they are caused by accident, not by intent, but there comes a point where ,if one is not capable of a simple task such as parking a car at "shuffling" speed, maybe one should re-evaluate the need to still be driving a motorvehicle....because unlike what Moose says
Chef should just follow thru with all the normal and legal items, of reporting this, to the authorities and insurance.
as for going easy on the old lady.....no no, it should follow the normal course.
Maybe she will upon reflection decide to re-evaluate her driving ability.
My ex "father-in law" (RIP) and garden cottage tenant, for whom I purchased the E28-520i a while ago, also bumped it within the first month against a brick wall at our local Spar, but he needed to be mobile (SBK Amputee), he knew his limitations, and would only drive in the mid-morning when traffic was at it lightest and parking was wide open at the Spar, but circumstances in SA forced him to still drive, although against my inner gut-feeling, he shouldn't have been driving...but what else could I do, in this 3rd world country of ours

, if Chef wasn't there to witness it, she could easily have done it....one never knows, the news reports are littered with incidents of minor parking lot rash, and no-one around anymore to take accountability, and all it does is hike our premiums.it's not like she hit and run or something.
