Chef bro...nasty one this. Had a very similar issue last year, smaller mark though . Guy bumped the car and drove off, I was at prayers and only noticed when I got out. I managed to get the entire thing off, using schols comping which you can get from moe crazy rides. Alternatively I'm willing to give you some from my stash. Do you have a DA machine?

Had a similar thing last Friday. Misses rammed her Landy into a parking pole (ones that hold up shade cloth parkings) and left the front bumper full of white marks. (She should not of been driving - was a sick as hell and on meds - no depth perception and blurred vision - but HAD to go to a company function!!!).
I had a look and decided to try some petrol to remove the white paint - worked like a charm, took all the white off, gave it a rinse/wash and a bit of polish and it looks like nothing ever happened. Perhaps give that a try for the stubborn black marks Chef for now.

Thanks guys, some good advice coming through.

Let me first get the 5er to the CMFIC and if it can't be done, I will take it further with the above :blowheart::ty:

Second hit in 7 months (again, not my fault):

The culprit, a 76 year old lady:

but at the same time kept saying "please go easy on me"

I can't help but feel sorry for the old lady. She got all tearful.

, and she was trying to park next to me.

76 years old
don't feel sorry for her
she shouldn't be aloud to drive anymore, if she cannot park

it is time this old goat hangs up her driving gloves
In the UK they would send her for remedial driver training, and she would probably fail, end of driving licence

next time she will kill someone because she coudn't see, or coudn;'t react properly anymore yada-yada

just remember you will be old sometime in your life too

Haven't updated here in a while, so:

That black scratch has been polished out with some old voodoo car polish stuff I found :mmm:

Then, the old fuel leak is back this winter so I'll be bringing the car in next week for the high pressure fuel pump. At the same time, a new fanbelt will be fitted, as well as new handbrake cables. I don't want to bring it in now in case it's not ready for the busy Fanatics weekend ahead.

A month ago the rear brake pads were replaced, as well as the handbrake shoes and rear wheel bearings.

I did a diagnostics check on it last week and found out that the airbag-related sensors on the driver's side are faulty, so I need to strip out the seat and see what's going on there. This is rather alarming, so it's a priority check. Will do it next week as well.

Then, the car is due for a service so I need to place an order with Gert soon and get all the goodies I need.

Thanks to the mention from Mr LZ about MD House, where I managed to source a new fog lamp for the LHS. Finally, it will match the new RHS. I need to ask them about a new headlight, too... Hmmm

Loooots of things to do to keep the 5er happy.

She also ticked over 283 000km last week and still going strong.

:chef:

did it say "drivers side airbag tensioner"

if so

no need to strip, the culprit is then the big connector under the drivers seat
vibrates, (vacumm cleaner hose touching it etc) causes an interuption in current, stored in the computor 9 times, the tenth time it sets off the light and can only be reset via a diagnostics

thats the only airbag repetitive problem I have on my 5'er

I have no airbag light coming on, but this is the diagnostic reading:

50 MRS: Power supply
01 MRS: Airbag, driver, stage 1
0D MRS: Airbag, driver, stage 2
02 MRS: Belt tensioner, driver
70 MRS: Seat occupancy detector

We tried clearing it, but it wouldn't.

Any ideas? I have checked that the plug is properly connected, which it is.

Yup. Also, I am never going to any event where chef is going to be, or if I am, I will be catching a taxi.
