Body Flex Squeaking

Hi Guys,

Need some advice.

I have an e90 lci, and I have started to notice that the door seals( the rubber tubing mounted on the door....you can see it when the door is open) has started to squeak and squeal when the car body flexes as it does when going over a bump, up a ramp from the flat road surface or coming down a ramp onto a level road, or even going over an electric gate track.

I need to know if the dealership will fix this, by applying some sealant to the rubber (something like gummi Pflege) or the SA equivalent which will probably be spit from a technicians mouth.

Or, should I get something to stop the noises and if so, then what should I get, from where and for how much.

For those of you that will suggest Silicon.......thanks, but no thanks, i dont want my rubber seals getting brown and brittle.

Thanks.

I'd suggest take it into the dealer...they replaced all mine when i had a problem with it and motorplan will cover it...even if you have rattles, you can take it in. Don't know if it differ dealer to dealer, but just my 17c.. Hope this helps.:thumb:

the e90 weighs as much as a house i would have thought body flex would be quite non extant...

it seems your car would still be under MP so i would just get the seals changed...

Make it the dealers problem. Though Gummi Pflege is pretty easy to get now, Sonax also make a variant and and 303 works well too.
Also check for a broken door panel clip, its easy to mistake the 2

I am pretty sure its the rubber seals, and not a broken door clip.

BTW, where can I get Gumme Pflege from and for how much?

Yep, Please let me know. I would like to avoid going through the whole customs/shipping/VAT story.

Thanks Calypso.

Also, do you know of anyone that can assist in getting rid of dealer sponsored holograms (buffer trails) on a black car?

Well, I use to own a 320i with a steptronic box, and i can tell you that it WAS slow, so I am not making assumptions and stuff. ITs just a fact, it would have been a different story if they had 6 cyl though.

But yeah, i think this might get a bit ugly, and its my fault, I started it.
