Well, if bmw can go into the front wheel market, then something like this cant be too far off. :dunno:
But I think they might start with a nissan mp200 competitor, so make the new 1-series into a bakkie.

While that thing may look like crap, I think everything behind the rear wheels could make for a stunning rear end design for a new sedan. looking at the back if the car in the middle pic

I like it. And compared to the other offering on the market it looks way better. As for hacking an existing model... it makes sense as it keeps costs down. Rather than going through the full RnD of a new model you just adapt the old model.

As for offroad ability... please. Now many bakkies make it offroad? And speaking to double cab die hards they are starting to feel the rock hard suspension and kak back seats. And realizing that there are better alternatives. In Australia every second Land Cruiser has been chopped to a "tray-back". This will not be aimed at farmer types but rather the week-end mountain biker.
