I like it. And compared to the other offering on the market it looks way better. As for hacking an existing model... it makes sense as it keeps costs down. Rather than going through the full RnD of a new model you just adapt the old model.
As for offroad ability... please. Now many bakkies make it offroad? And speaking to double cab die hards they are starting to feel the rock hard suspension and kak back seats. And realizing that there are better alternatives. In Australia every second Land Cruiser has been chopped to a "tray-back". This will not be aimed at farmer types but rather the week-end mountain biker.
