Where is a BMW service centre/specialist in the Pretoria area that gives you an option of genuine or aftermarket parts?

My stepbrother has taken over my 130i, about 2 months ago. It now needs a few parts replaced like the Aircon Compressor, pulley, mechanical belt, etc.
Menlyn Auto quoted him R30k for all the parts and labor.

Here in Cape Town I used to take the car to Garage 808, he gave the option of genuine or aftermarket parts.

He can also speak to Ross Duncan, I know a lot of guys who took their out of plan Beemers to him. His shop is in Midrand though.

Thanks for the details guys, will pass it onto my boet.

Yes Alex, that's my old 130i. Miss it a lot.

John, I went to my dealership SMG here in Cape Town to get better prices compared to what Menlyn Auto quoted him.
SMG said he shouldn't need to replace all the parts that Menlyn Auto requested. They said it could either be the bearing in the compressor or the pulley.
Thanks for your help. I told him to take it to an aircon repair place to get a 2nd opinion cos I can't believe that all the parts need to be replaced. Will tell him to come to you as well.

This pic is SMG's prices, with club discount:

Hi, he is welcome to come in and I can take a look, I don't want to comment on what they have quoted till I have taken a look, I hope you can understand were I am coming from.

Harrack in JHB "WAS" BMW approved for compressor repairs but the contract has since been cancelled, if it is just a pulley on the compressor they may be able to help him. We unfortunately only get complete assemblies. Pulleys and belts are wear and tear items and that one can make your own call on.

Cheers
