BMW M2 vs New Audi RS3 - Drag Race

In terms of the looks department, the M2 has it hands down, but in performance against the RS3, it drops the soap in the shower, IMO. Never the less i would still take M2 cause its a classy car and cause like all audis, the RS3 will eventually run its rings and smoke and use oil, then its this revised, then that revised, then this facelift and that facelift blah blah blah.

Those results are so close on different days and swapped drivers that table will change.

If it were slower than the M2 then Audi would release version 4 of the RS3 with a power bump. The M2 gave the first RS3 carrots same M2 and same power and still the RS3 cannot pull gaps on it. Now how impressive is that ?

Agreed.
There is some confusion between the 270 and the 294 kw RS3, the latter is a significantly better performing vehicle.
On a drag basis, it easily competes with a higher powered M3/4 - the M3/4 will only have its ways on the top end (very top.... +200 top).

There is also nothing wrong in cars being released with enhanced performance - a car enthusiast ought to welcome that especially M2 fans.
Be it facelift or LCI or whatever you wanna call it, that is the name of the game...

Apart from running train lengths ahead on a straight line, I don't see any other strengths with the RS3.

The M2 has so much more to offer IMO.

I don't see your point they are all sold as unique cars.

M4 from 2014 was 317kw, 2017 M4 still 317kw
Comp pack the Same 331 kw still 331kw
GTS - Track car, pointless to use as a road car
CS - In between track and road car.

That said I would pi$$ed off if I bought a car in 2014 then in 2015 it was revised then again in 2017 and again 2018 with more power. Like wtf get it right the first time.

I’d like to see if the same person tests it what results will be. It doesn’t make sense at all as the cars are almost identical.


Cars.co.za often run terrible times when doing these tests..

The sedan weighs 1480kg (as can be seen on page 1 of this thread). The sportback weighs 1510kg as in the video.
