Bmw M2 CS - this is it

This is a proper motor.

"S" designated engine?
Check

Unique styling?
Check

Some questions:
Same engine as M3/M4, in a smaller, lighter body means its gonna destroy the big brothers. How do the owners of those cars feel about that?

How do the owners of current M2s feel about having an massively inferior( and some would say "not quite M") car?

With BMW releasing so many versions, is there any point in owning 1st iterations of "M" cars any more?

While it's the same motor as the M3/M4 it's slightly detuned to 405HP/500nm vs the M3/M4s 425HP/550nm.

You do have a point though.

I am confused.

Is it " it " as the title says , or is it "not quiet it " as the post describes?

Please help OP.

Let's see when this is out how it is with the upgraded performance and other bits. Don't think it will be quicker than an M4/3 comp as that will cannabilise the market or alternatively it might be more expensive than either:fencelook:

Old news. There is already VIN numbers on the internet that shows 6 MT on the M2 CS and 410hp or 302kW. It will not be limited as per this article. This will be produced in parallel with the M2 at the Leipzig plant, which by the way, is already struggling to keep up with production, now they will need to build this too, next to the LCi M2.

Spotted this interesting VIN info excerpt, of which the VIN # and production date info were not disclosed (source: see a comment under this article - about the article itself: see however this post):
Type: 2U73
Model: M2 Competition - USA
Development Code: F87 (MUE)
Chassis: COUPE
Steering: LL
Doors: 2
Engine: S55
Displacement: 3.00
Power: 302
Drivetrain: HECK
Transmission: MECH
Color: Hockenheim Silber Metallic - C33
Upholstery: Led.dak.des.perf.schwarz/blau - MDB2
Production Plant: LEIPZIG
Production Date: 0001-01-01

M2 CS body colors: Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Long Beach Blue Metallic, Sunset Orange (added color) and Hockenheim Silver (added all-new BMW color) (thus no Mineral Grey Metallic available for the M2 CS)
base M2 CS: black Dakota leather (LCNL) with choice between Polar Blue stitching and Orange stitching (Kyalami Orange like the 1M ?) - choice between regular leather and perforated leather
March 2018: M2 CS goes into production | S55 engine | 410 hp | no limited edition
It will also feature M-coloured seat blets:

Don't think the pictures are official pictures of the car yet

I do agree with the comment that the M brand has been diluted with with numerous variations. If this is limited and it has the m3/4 motor ... It's the one M car to get

The price though I know ain't gonna be pretty. I'm think r2 bar ... Scalper market r3bar easy ... And if it will truly be limited

Few weeks out of the dealership then you will be one upped by an even newer version to kill all you have worked for... Like a Glomail commercial..

"But wait, there is more"

Drives me mad how they update all the time ... if it is limited to 1000 i doubt too many will come down.. and if they do it'll be over R1.5m..
Still looks amazing!
