@Anees reached out a few days ago after fitting ISC Coilover Suspension on his 330d. The next job on his list was replacing the engine mounts. We chatted about aftermarket vs OEM options and pricing. He managed to get a great price on OEM engine mounts from BMW — so he picked up a full set of engine and transmission mounts.
He dropped the car off with new parts on Sunday and asked to do a minor service as well. We got started early on Monday, Ordered the parts/Fluids for the oil service and went to work as soon as it arrived.
✅ Work Carried Out:
1. Prep:
– Received the Parts/Fluids
– Added protective covers to the driver’s side to keep things spotless.
– Moved the car onto the lift
2. Work Carried out:
– Added engine flush
– Removed undertrays
– Drained oil completely
– Removed old Transmission mounts (rubber had softened and minor cracks forming)
– Installed new OEM transmission mounts — firm and crack free
– Removed the old oil filter, cleaned filter cap and housing
– Installed new oil filter and O-ring
– Refit sump plug with new crush washer
– Filled with fresh Motul X-Clean 5W40 oil
– Cleaned and refitted the engine oil cap
– Removed airbox, intake piping, and air filter for access to the engine mount
– Used compressed air to blow dust and dirt out of the air filter and airbox
– Supported the engine and removed both old engine mounts
– Fitted new OEM Engine mounts using medium strength thread locker on the bolts
– Old mounts were clearly collapsed and sagging
3. Full Inspection (While Undertrays/Heat Shields Were Off):
– Conducted a full inspection of the:
🔹 Engine Bay
🔹 Undercarriage
🔹 Drivetrain
🔹 Suspension
– No issues found — refitted the undertray and heat shields
4. Diagnostics & Finishing Touches:
– Cleared old stored error codes
– Reset oil service reminder
– Performed a test drive
– Left a bottle of Motul Diesel Injector Cleaner in the door pad for him to use on the next fuel fill-up, Just a little something to clean and maintain the injectors.
Anees wanted a second opinion on how the car felt post-coilover install.
Quick drive confirmed:
✔️ Body roll massively reduced
✔️ Still daily-drivable with good damping
✔️ Ride height is perfect — noticeably lower parked next to a stock F30 Msport which another customer dropped off
Before handing over, we checked:
– Final oil level
– Tyre pressures
Later that evening Anees collected the car and when he got home he messaged to say "The car is driving much nicer than before”
Thanks again for trusting us with your Car, Anees!
It’s a beautifully kept 330d and drives just as solid as it looks. 👊🔥
