Warranties can only be made compulsory by the financing bank, in order to safeguard the asset.
If u read and accepted the pre agreement, they got no grounds to force it onto you unless it was in the initial quote. You can take them to the cleaners imo

Leon, hulle is besig om met jou mielie te speel!!
There is NO WAY they can make you sign or pay or take out a warantee that supposedly protects them from the consumer act!! That is TOTAL BS!!!!
Tell them you are going to get your attorney involved if they refuse to complete the deal, as they are now committing fraud by trying to force you to sign and pay for something you are not legally obligated to do!!

JIS WEET JY!!!!!! :argh:

I agree with Cois. Warranty is totally optional. Not even your finance house can force you into a warranty. You are even free to purchase a warranty elsewhere if you so desire. They just trying to score some extra commission from the warranty company. Trust me on this one.

So my option

I have a right to decline the warranty , but Audi has a right to decline the sale

Firstly what after market warranty costs 10k??? I have a motorite warranty which I took out on my car by choice through Wesbank and that was around R4k. As stated above they can't force you to take out a warranty. Don't let them take you for a ride. Do you have it in writing that you've accepted their quote? If so, show them that the warranty was not part of the initial agreement. And their story about complying with CPA is BS. Maybe print a copy of the act and ask them to show you where in the act it says that a warranty is compulsory in order to finalize the sale.

If the dealer plays hardball, walk away from the transaction. E46 330i's are are easy to find, let the dealer find another sucker who will buy the R10k warranty. I even bet for 10k, that warranty will barely cover the essentials and never a full engine rebuild or gearbox replacement.

My only worry with this kind of thing is that they sabotage the car in some way! When you go back to them they say but you wavered the opportunity to purchase a warranty, Thus they don't have to do shit to help you out.

Just be careful, check the car properly for anything fishy, dealerships can be real ass holes, ask spy007, he will tell you all about what dicks dealerships can be.

Now that I think of this - that logic is retarded. By advertising those terms, as well as giving you a quote, implies that forcing you to buy a warranty means they already contravene the CPA.

Wankers.

Hahahaha you guys are funny

They had the vehicle serviced yesterday, and i spoke to the service manager, he informed me the the vehicle is prestine!

I got a lower warranty option, and we went 50/50, which was not allot in the end, so i was happy with it

My girl is the only one who's allowed to play with mielies, seeing that shes from Bloemfontein!
