Strange that they needed to do a poll... We all know that we are the worst drivers on the road

The results from polls or studies can be made to show almost anything you want. Personally I am know a much better driver after getting my BMW, just because of the simple fact that I am always in a good mood the moment I get behind the wheel, one of the main reasons for this is that behind the wheel of my BMW is such a nice place to be (for this reason I voted no)

I have had bad experiences with drivers of a lot of different car brands, so I am not to sure the make of the car is related to this.

In terms of BMW driver being more likely to speed, well duh

As a matter of fact, I am extra nice on the road because of the stigma... And I am trying to help our cause. I give alot more people breaks at junctions and in traffic. I go out of my way not to drive on another cars bumper etc.... But the stereotype def exists.

I know of a BMW driver that insists on tailgating because "her car has ABS"...

If you think about it the ABS reason is actually really dumb, firstly does she have the reaction speed to break in time, and secondly, remember this is SA so chances are the car behind her won't have ABS.

I consider myself pretty conciousness driver, I usually leave room for people who want to change lanes etc, but my patience has limits of course.

You have people speeding and being rude in all sorts of cars. The car BRAND has NOTHING to do with it. Finish and klaar. If you have a issue with any person because of the car he/she drives, then you are the one with the problem.

As far as I'm concerned, if you dislike someone because he/she drives a BMW, your just jealous because you don't have a BMW badge.

Since buying my BM i find that people are worse drivers around me. i drove an opel kadett 160is and think in the 5 years driving it i got cut off 5 time maximum. the day i got my beemer i got cut off 10 times from alberton to kensington bout 12 km stretch. my reasoning people are jealous of the awsomness of the car, or they just want to see the beauty of the car in their rearview mirror. both ways i don't mind i get to have the sheer driving pleasure.

Funny you should say that, My Girlfriend drives a Getz and she is always going on about BMW drivers.

But I think it's just because I now have one now and she doesn't

I think the stigma grew up in the UK. Where a 3 series is a rep mobile. Reps are on the road all the time and tend to feel they need to get somewhere quicker than anyone else. (I have heard

I have to disagree. I think Audi drivers are rude and abusive. I can think of many a time when an Audi driver pushed in infront of me or cut me off and gave me the middle finger.
