325is alpine offered turbo - http://www.carmag.co.za/classic-road-tests/from-the-archives-bmw-325is-turbo/

Seems like you own the car but don't know much....

I'm glad you could find an internets, but if you actually read the second sentence it states, in english:

"... but the Alpine conversion added a turbocharger..."

Guy, you miss the point of this car. It was special when it was new and its arguably that much more special today. You can't just look at the numbers, it has the essence that made BMWs iconic.

If you'd rather have a newer/faster/better car, then good for you.

The main purpose from the OP of this thread, was about the value of a 325is...and the claim was fetching 150k-200k
And when determing value,
I had to mention the power, its an old legendary car but not worth that much
For me, it will never be worth that much.

I think I know why most folk here value it so much, they want to feel alive by being chased by hijackers. LOL
The 2 we had, both were hijacked.

I heard a guy died the other day while on the toilet, you gonna stay away from that too?
Are you seriously gonna continue trying to back yourself up? Here???
Back up the fact that a 325is is not worth 150k = YES

Not worth R150k.... TO YOU
But to the rest of us that aren't worried about the guy next to us, it very well could be worth every penny

agreed.. I would sell both my nuT$ for one of those. just to have it. she may have not been the fastest but she would put out ass. Pull first gear, into the limiter, let her blip twice, snap second and hold the steering so that her as doesn't sway all over the place.. BIG SIGH!! that's why my buddy doesn't let me near his one anymore. :argh:

owners rated 150k-200k for the I.S
So;
M Coupe - much more unique, much more power
M5 e39 - 150k-200k
Z4 M coupe - 180-220k
Neat e30 for 50k, drop 100k including a M5 V8 conversion(M88)
e46 M3s are even close to the 150k now, easily at 170k

This is just keeping it bmw brand

True story, we all value our own.
I would not value 150k for an old car
Not saying I don't LOVE the I.S
just not 150k much

that's where you are getting it all wrong. ENTHUSIAST.. it means you would like to keep the car as original as possible. Don't gut the poor thing.

it reminds me of people obliterating an e36 M3 by putting in a supra 2jz engine because its cheaper and more powerful. You know what, go buy a faster car or a damn Toyota.

M Coupe, more unique yes and faster but its not an iS..

Okay, original then...
BMW for BMW.

If a 23yr old BMW 325is costs 150k-200k
and the E46 M3 with probably half of that mileage and only 9 years old is costing 160k-220k
Which one you gonna buy?

a pristine looking one and I had the money to waste. I would take the iS. that's the thing about being an enthusiast. its something to scratch off from your bucket list. I would buy one just to say that I owned one. whether it was for a week or 2 or even a month. I had one.

e46 M3s are a dime a dozen and if you kick over a rock, you will find one. it would probably be abused too or wrapped in some shitty vynil or something to make it look "one of a kind" but it still wouldn't be an iS.

gladly..it will probably cause a stir when one of those old gents tell you about the time when he owned one.

i used to work for a BMW agent some years back and there used to be this old man, Oom Marius, that used to have his 327iS serviced there. I used to be the only one that could drive it and wash it. he always said that if anything happens to him, I could have the car. LOL.. this is what made his car unique, he had the front passenger seat signed by the late Toni Viana
