Money spent on this one will never be lost.

Cosmetics is all present, mechanical stuff is all present, it's just a matter of polishing it up.

I'd say after tossing the replacement parts etc into the argument, you should be able to do a sub-R45k deal.

Blue Shirt, just have a close look at the engine bay, in the top right of the pic, there seems to be a lot of rat droppings, just make double sure that the rats haven't got at the wiring, this shouldn't be a deal breaker but def a price fixer! Good Luck!

Thanks, I have seen the rat droppings. As soon as I can get power to the car, I will test all the electrics. The car's battery is dead and shorted internally, so my booster pack wouldn't power up the other day.

I brought a new battery today and started the car. All the electrics work except the radio antenna and the headlight adjusters.

So I made a deal with the owner, and it is now SOLD: to me :joy:

It is coming home on Saturday if I can find a car trailer to rent tomorrow.

Congrats!

There is not a day that I don't regret selling my 2door e30.
May she bring you many smiles...

Great find. Good luck. Remember to use the correct pre-startup procedures for a car that's been sitting for that long. You don't want to add any unnecessary expenses.

Grats on securing the find BS. Now we need the restoring pics and writeups. (I saw you already stripped the sound)

So far, my son and I have started to clean up the car inside and out. I'll post some pics of the great wash of 2013 tomorrow. The car cleaned up well on the outside, but it will need a good polish and wax as well as some minor paint repairs to really bring out the shine again. Inside, the car is like new. We vacuumed it properly and waxed the leather and the door panels.

Today, we replaced the 23yr old brake fluid and also bled the clutch, as well as replaced the coolant after flushing the system. Other service items remaining are an oil change for the engine, gearbox and diff, filter all round, replacing the rear silencer, some bumper trim and the electric aerial that needs replacing as it has been broken off. The air intake rubber boot is perished, but we made a temp fix so we could drive the car around the estate for a while. It goes so well, I think I could get into into it tomorrow and drive to Cape Town without any hiccup.

It is truly a great find, and I may very well just keep the car as it is 100% factory original except for the radio. If anyone can help me locate an OEM radio and electric aerial, I will pay a finders fee.
