No offence ... I don't see how a whatsapp group is gonna nab this guy. If you have his address it's a simple matter of just rocking up to his place with the police and have him arrested
This of course requires one to lay a charge. Now I have had someone try some bs like this to me in the past and the guy got arrested in a week
So the only assumption I can make is that people here are scared to do anything about it
Ps: I have not been taken by this guy ... And honestly I should just take a back seat because of the victims here are not acting

This guy is nothing in the world of scammers Tbh , I know of a guy whose taking and still taking people for millions , Everyone knows everything about him but nothing happens , The police are either in his back pocket (Which I honestly suspect), useless or not interested , His operating in Jhb now apparently , and did his nonsense in Durban and Cape Town . His using Large company names , gov organization names and scamming people out for millions pretending to arrange loans , investments etc , He has people who work for him in these legitimate organizations as well . People even know where he takes the money and what he does with it ,
This country is going to the rats . My trust in people these days is at an all time low , I'm very cautions nowadays. These scammers are such smooth talkers .

Seriously though there are 2 well known alleged ponzi scammers that have had all charges dropped. Money talks unfortunately. I had people on my facebook feed impacted by one of them and they were all out in defense of him either because they benefited as early adopters (only explanation I have).
My FIL has a client that was swindled out of 200K by a guy for a genuinely stupid reason though - Guru told him to give him cash, he did some ritual with it and gave it back in a bag... told him to put it in his prayer room for 6 months and it would magically double. 3 months in, the dude's son gets suspicious and opens the bag - full of paper... Guru nowhere to be found even at this point. The guy blames his son for this somehow because it was supposed to be 6 months. People are dumb - even (or perhaps especially) people with money.
Last example: that massive church in Durban: Apparently guys were giving them literally bucketloads of money for it to be dumped somewhere in the ocean for blessings (this was totally NOT used to erect a giant structure in the middle of the CBD)
If you are willing to sacrifice your morals, there is PLENTY of money to be made off the truly gullible - they make this dude look like exactly what he is - a small time thief who will no doubt have his number called soon.

And no i dont condone theft, but damn...i cant understand if it was as clear cut as described then how has no action been taken?

Catching up here....I haven't been taken by said party, but I was alerted to an incident of the I phone which happened to a guy on thr carbonite forum. The guy did come forward, and he did give all details, as well open a case, and from his account of the incident, it's as clear cut as guy held the phone, walked to his car on the pretence of fetching the money and then just drove off.

This thread was posted here to gather further information and make it known to the people we interact with daily that this is happening and so to be vigilant.
Calls for further information are out there. Obviously the address is not yet known otherwise I'm sure the guy's house would have been surrounded already.

And as stated before, numerous cases have already been opened. If the cops were really into the case, they would obviously have arrested him by now. Maybe he's bribing the cops? Maybe he's already out on bail awaiting trial and in the meantime carries on with his shenanigans? None of us know. The negativity in here really is not necessary.
