I was looking at a E46 M3 before I bought my 135i. Stopped next to a E46 M3 en Edenvale the other night and gave the Oak a hiding with a Stock 135i when I hooked 3rd.

Much respect!

My M3 is definitely coming to you for oil service. I think Iv done about 3000km since last service but it will be a year in November. How long should I wait time wise?

Sorry for a slight thread jack. :sorry:

Once a year or when you reach the service interval kilometres. In your case it will be time...so yes...a service is due in November :=):

And while you at it...let Peter them also do a general check for you. Which they always do anyway :=):

How many Ks has the car done since new?

1.Do you ever stat it and let it warm up and then switch off?
2.Do you do short trips where the car does not operate at normal temp for a long period of time?

If answer to 1 and 2 is yes then once a year is required.

Although oil does not deteriorate in the crankase it does under "cold" operation as the car is under enriched cycle and more fuel is introduced into the system and no matter how well your rings seal there is always blow by and a subsequent deterioration of the oil.
Hope that answers your question

No to both 1 and 2.

In that case no to oil change if I were you. I would leave it longer.

And adds what value to this thread......

the problem there was an 'Oak' in the //M and those trees are heavy so you obviously had a weight advantage.

Well done Peter and Alex! It's awesome to have you guys on the forum!
I said it once and I'll say it again. I'd rather take my car to you guys than taking it to the dealer. At least you know your car is taken care of as if it was their own!!
