This is the lip i have... Excuse the crappy editing, the pic was very dark and the lip was not noticeable until some HDR was added.

That bumper that fuzz put is an Oem bumper also. You can purchase it. The centre piece is a complete grille. It would look better off then painting your current one black.

Here's a pic.

Great stuff Peejay. Thanks!

Will get cracking on that. I am seeing the panel beater tomorrow, will check if they can get this bumper instead.

Panel shop has not started with my car as they are waiting for the left headlight, at first it was on back order from Germany but then Germany says the part is obsolete. I sourced a set of good quality aftermarket, OEM looking headlights, im just convincing insurance to replace both and not only the damaged one. The set will cost less than one OEM headlight which we cannot get anyways.

That is just poor support from bmw, the e36 is not that old, its ridiculous not to carry a commonly damaged part like a headlight....they could stand to learn a lesson from mercedes benz on how to support their products and customers.

It's difficult to find E36s in good condition. Seems a shame to get rid of her. What would you replace her with?

Wait what ?

Which part? The accident or the For Sale?

Good news, car is ready (after far to long). Will be collecting tomorrow morning.

The sale aspect, to be honest. I have advertised it, to test the market. If a buyer comes along, ill let it go. If not, no problem.

Got the car back from the panel shop a couple weeks ago. Havent done anything until this weekend as i have been fighting with Insurance and Panel shop.

1. Panel shop was suppose to replace the drivers side headlights and indicator - They did not. Long story, but its resolved now.

2. Paint work on the fender does not match, Panel Shop says the car was previously resprayed the wrong shade of white. I polished the entire car and the color matches 95% now. Gonna give clay a chance to bring out the color of the rest of the car. Hopefully it matches the fender 100%. Its not a train smash, the car is 18 years old and has been resprayed before.

3. Headlight brand used is apparently an inferior make (DJAUTO). Its a struggle to get OEM headlights as they are not produced anymore (apparently). Anyways, the lights look and work good so im okay with that.

Panel shop replaced the passenger side headlight and indicator. I managed to get the same branded headlight from Marouns on Saturday for the drivers side. Decided to give it a little touch of personality.

Out with the old:

New headlights opened up to customize:

End result:

On car:

The fogs and drivers side indicator will be replaced this weekend. Will order them from Steven.

Yesterday, the car was cleaned and waxed, ready to carry on with its duties.

TBH - As a daily, this car is a true gem. Im still not comfortable using it on a long distance trip. I still need to get done with the suspension replacement. Time is just not on my side.

I did enjoy DIY'ing on Saturday...
