So an update on the 850Ci I recently swapped for the 530i..
Had manifolds Guncoated, tappet covers powder-coated, some cleaning under the hood, oil change.. started up.. car smoked something ridiculous.
Started again, STRIP DOWN, checked, plugs, compression, etc etc. New Ignition leads arrived and look very good.
Seems Vacuum hose valves old, causing oil to being sucked into the manifold and blowing out the exhaust, lets replace both just in case
Waiting on new tappet cover gaskets, lots of little plastic covers and such and hopefully by next week all will be running again. Some more deep cleaning.....
First photo is of the engine after a good clean and assembly, second picture of the inner workings of a v12.... while it lies waiting on another 3K worth of spares.
Must honestly admit the 850ci spares bought through my local BMW dealer have been very well priced...Coming in from Classic BMW Germany
So far..

OEM Front Pads and sensor

All the above just on 6K
